Hi all, Wasn't to sure if this was the right section in the forum's for this etc, but I was looking at different lizardmen stuff on eBay and the internet at like proxys etc which I didn't know what the hell it meant. Stumbled across these - https://pledgemanager.lastsword.com/the-jungles-awakening#Awakening-Pledges Now in terms of painting, playing, construction etc what are the views of proxy, like could you use them in a game but they would just obtain a profile of a GW model or are they not happy with proxys, do you have to lie and say there green stuff conversions etc Just thought I'd ask before I maybe got one as they look incredible and very close to GW or the route GW should be taking with them!! Would love to see your comments etc
You won't get away with models that are not GW if you intend to play at a GW store/tournament. Friendly games and independent stores should be more accepting.
Thanks for that crow!! I'll maybe get one or two for friendly games and just personal interest in the model
I really like the look of those models! I'm always looking for good proxy models. Nice find! I recently bought some models from Lost Kingdom Miniatures and the quality of the models are really good. I'll post an update once I clean them and start painting them I'm sure they have been posted before, but here is a link to the website: https://lostkingdomminiatures.com/en/20-cuetzpal-empire
Wow they look incredible man, shame there all out of stock, are they regularly available or scarce finds?
Not sure. They had a kickstarter (I missed it ) which did really well, then they did a limited run of the models to gauge interest. I think they will regularly stock them since basically everything is out of stock right now.... You better believe I'm buying Quetzalcoatl as soon as I can
Those are some of the ones I got! They are made out of resin so they are not fun to work with, but they look great! I'm planning on starting to paint them sometime this week
Quite true. Love the independent shops. I am sure they will go on sale eventually, they do have some orcs/chaos dwarfs for sale already I think and they were kickstarters a few years back. May get that chameleon skink champion someday after all!
They just posted yesterday on facebook answering your questions, i will quote the post: And here a link to their post
Those look stunning! If only I wasn't playing at the local GW I'd get some - still, I think I could get away with some of those ruined temple bases.
My only advice for Lost Kingdom Miniatures is to be VERY gentle with the small pointy bits. I already broke off the tip of the chameleon skink champion’s nose horn off
