I have gained so much from so many in this forum and have begun to give back vis some.commenting. This thread is about me giving more back and serving as a motivator to paint all of my Seraphon models to the same standard. If you've landed here, I hope you enjoy our journey! #1 - A Salamander I'm considering painting the next Salmander base in a Martian Texture to see if it helps the model pop more. There's also some colourful aquarium plants on the way, so I can potentially stick one on the base. As far as model painting goes though, this one is done. It's the best standard I can manage and I'm happy with it
Thank you! I was trying to make it appear that way I'm enjoying painting these models because of the blend in colours you can try out.
This model was a heartbreaker because undecided to paint the platform details in different colours instead of blanketing them in a single colour. Again I'm happy with my result!
Great Stegadon!! Nice to go with Yellow, good contrast with the blue skinks Love the red soil, looks like their from Mars Grrr, Imrahil
Thank you! I'm not sure the bases need a blue contrast layer going forward. Ome base in my next post will have the blue layer and the other will be without it so you can see the difference.
These models were mostly painted already so I didnt need to start them from scratch over the last couple of days. I did get the chance to finish them today im happy with them bar one or two touch ups and the addition of the third skink on the right Basti, realised I hadn't even made him My wife painted my bloat toad so there is extra sentiment in that model for me
I wont be able to keep up this pace so my updates will be less frequent, but hopefully still to the same standard!
Very happy with my Carnosaur and Old Blood. Almost ruined the Oldblood but thought it turned out OK. A lot of prep work underneath the balck scales on the Carno to give him different shades of red I was aiming for a volcanic look!
Its been a while and happy to be back with a fully complete unit of 15 Knights! Scar Vet on Cold One is next. So much more to paint!...
Thank you! It's great fellow Lizards are enjoying these efforts and it encourages me further! I won't win a Golden Daemon but I know I'm doing my best and can't ask for more
Thanks a million! They took a lot longer than I expected and I'm glad I spent such time on them because I'm happy with the outcome! I'm enjoying working with bright colours and want to keep that trend going
Skink Handlers are now done and I finished my third and final Salamander. I may go back another time to highlight the brightest Salamander but only when the rest of the army is fully painted. He does have highlights but they don't seem to pop out as much as highlights on the other Salamanders. The skin on the skink handlers is slightly darker, not 100% intentional but I'll put it down to handlers being more experienced/older Skinks who are tasked with handling the Slamanders.
Great work on those Skinks and Salamanders! Somehow the simple basing works very good! Keep up the good work Grrr, Imrahil
Thank you very much! I'm poor on basing generally and do intend to spend more time on at least the larger model bases later, once the army is fully painted. Until then, I'm really happy this is working out and that you think so too!
I spent a lot of time on the Kroxigor partly because I wasn't sure if the colour scheme would work out. I wanted to keep the primary Lizards in the blue scheme but needed some variation. I might do the other two kroxigor lighter and darker respectively to reflect different ages of the Kroxigor. I had 5 layers or colours at least on the skin. Also experimented for the first time with shiny reflections on the gold, mixing retirbutor armor with wraithbone and then ceremony white. Very pleased with how the experiment worked out. I'm.lretty sure I can spread the shininess out more on the gold but this will certainly do for a first try!
