I have a habit of building competitive lists and, well, I think I went overboard.

    Constellation
    Starborne

    Leaders
    Lord Kroak - Stellar Tempest

    Battleline
10 Skinks - Boltspitters and Starbucklers
10 Skinks - Boltspitters and Starbucklers

    Endless Spells
    Balewind Vortex
    Suffocating Gravetide

    Command Points: 1
    Points Total: 500/500

I love the simplicity of the list but bringing Lord Kroak into such a small points game feels... well a little wrong. Starborne can get one of those skink units onto an objective basically turn one via Masters of Time and Space. The other unit sticks with Kroak as his guard/screen while Kroak gets up on his Balewind Vortex then rains down hell in the form of Comet's Call, Stellar Tempest, and can safely give up one of his 4 castings per turn for extra summoning points. Summoning a unit of 10 skinks is just 6 points which he can then slingshot anywhere on the field he needs them.

I really don't know the meta of the group I'm joining so should I avoid this list to not be "That guy"?

I might be wrong, but I personally dont see Kroak being that incredible in lower point games. What exactly is he gonna do in turn 1? You only have 16" reach on Celestial Deliverance with no Astrolith, so it is questionable even in turn 2 if you have reach, unless you teleport him aggressively forward in turn 1 and use the Skinks as walls around his new position. Stellar Tempest is great and so is Comet's Call, but if you face someone with fewer MSU units you wont have all that much damage. IMO 40 Skinks in Fangs of Sotek with a Skink Priest general (Master of Stars trait to effectively get a free CP per turn) and a Skink Starpriest at 430 pts would be a much bigger deal. You can get Bound Geminids ontop, an extra CP, go for a triumph or get another 10 Skinks.

Summoning is obviously amazing, but with him as a general you "only" get 2D3 which averages 4 per turn. So every other turn you can expect 10 Skinks.

Rightly or wrongly, you will 100% be "that guy" if you bring a 320 point model to a 500 point escalation league game.

Not only that, but the games will be extremely boring for both you and your opponent.

not worth it for a 500 point game. if they bring just 3 mediocre battle line units then they will overpower the skinks and kroak alone won't be able to do enough damage, especially with the range.
better off going for probably 2 skink heroes and some saurus. e.g starseer, starpriest and some knights

I would just go with a Starseer or Starpriest with the +1 cast command trait and Bound Geminids of Ulgysh. With the Mage Staff constellation you will get to +2 to cast.
