Hey everybody! I used to play Lizardmen back in 2003-4. I was in college at the time and would have kept playing, except for a messy breakup, my ex stole my army. I couldn't imagine spending the money to re-acquire what I'd had, as I got a lot of the models as trade-ups for my previous tau army, which I had painted nicely. So, needless to say, as a college student I didn't have the cash and then I graduated and life happened, etc. Buuuut, Now I finally HAVE expendable income and a couple friends who are interested in Age of Sigmar so I'd like to rebuild my Lizardmen/Seraphon! I've been having a lot of fun reading up on everything I missed and that new Lord Kroak model is just... *chef's kiss*. I'm mostly planning on sticking to skirmish and/or warcry for now, but I'd love to eventually have a full force built around that new Kroak, whenever he's released.
Welcome (back) to Jurassic Park! Stealing your army is pretty messed up... I know how this could feel though. My Mum accidentally sold a 4K WFB Dwarf army that belonged to my brother... he hasn't touched Warhammer since Anyways, great to have you back! Make sure you take a good look around the forum, as there are a lot of hidden gems. Enjoy! (As a note, WFB lives on and I would be every remiss if I didn't let you know that an "Eighth Edition for Life" forum exists as well as this one. Just saying )
Yeah he was an abusive jerk. But, that's way in the past! It's really interesting about 8th edition too. I think what I played was 6th? I don't even remember, the book was red with a gold shield and hammer on it. I'll have to think about it, as the people I have who would actually play with me are more interested in AoS. I do really think the lore is neat and appreciate how it's doing something completely different. But it all feels a little abstract and is harder for me to get my teeth into than WFB was the first time around I'm relying on Tabletop Simulator right now to try stuff out (like, do I invest the mental energy in learning Warcry, or do I use the less-balanced Skirmish rules that will translate more easily into learning the full game?)
I'm not sure to be honest, when I played back in '98 I'm pretty sure it was 6th Edition. I've since been hooked onto 8th Edition. There are a couple of EEFL subforums for people trying to find other 8th Edition players in their areas. You can try it here. I've got no data about Warcry or any of the other game sets. Either way, take a good look around the forum as there are a number of hidden gems and lots of helpful people for both gaming and painting. Enjoy!
Welcome along! The Jungle embraces all who come to seek aid, or vengeance. Enjoy the hobby and the forum. Ask your questions and there probably will be someone around here that can answer you. Grrr, Imrahil
Welcome aboard, I'm glad you came back to the hobby. For any doubt you may have, feel free to ask. Enjoy your stay!
