Just my thoughts though, make the model the way you like it.
(you're the one to paint it and look at it the most ;) )

Well y'all, after 3 yeara of painting a and changing up projects left and right.... I have finally done it. I have finally COMPLETED my FIRST EVER FULL UNIT!

This unit is for my new Homebrew faction in Ghur called the Twinhorn Skinwalker Tribes, and some of their tribe are able to transform into either large wolves or large bears. For the wolves I am using the Fernrisian Wolves from 40k.

I made a mixture for a brown red on the longer fur bits and used deathclaw brown for the shorter hair bits. I then dry brushes wild rider red all over, also using it to fo their paws
Reikland Fleshshade all over to deepen the browns and reds and then Pallid Wych Flesh for the teeth.

Gonna be sharing more lore for the faction soon

Now to decide what to finish, felt good to complete a full unit finally!

    C&C welcome

I uh....I got really high last night and kinda....

Well... take a look then I'll explain... lol

    20220514_000952.jpg 20220514_000958.jpg

For my new Homebrew faction there are shamans which use what is called Bloodstone Magic. Essentially, the shamans combine their own blood (and shamans are always Skinwalkers, so they have X animals life essence in them that allows them to change into a Bear or Wolf), pigment, and crushed up realmstone to paint a symbol of the Bear or Wolf.

    (Example here: 20220507_064322.jpg )

Essentially what is summoned is an Incarnate, though the tribes have no idea thats what it is and to them it is just a summoned animal spirit.

SO, this... creation... is supposed to be a Summoned Spirit of a dead Bear Godbeast. I fiddled around with as many rock/mountain like pieces that I have. It looks, ok... lol but admittedly... RIDICULOUSNESS lol

This all began from my idea but ultimately I also wanted to try something new and craft my own thing with Styrofoam. I have no idea if ill continue on with it, but it has been fun for the one night i fiddled with it.

I think it looks pretty awesome! Like a slann that found himself in colder climates would absolutely be riding a polar bear covered in rock armour! I say this because of the seat, I immediately thought ah yeah a slann would look amazing on this beast!

You now have me considering giving it a tail and making it into some sort of living temple with a Slann on it. Traveling Temple of Tzunki

But yes, exactly! Minus the Slann, though tempting lol

    An Update on Yogi

    The High Adventure continues

Lots of cork added, mud and more cork next. Greenstuff eventually.

Looks more like a Rhino than Bear atm, but its cool to think this thing raised up from a mountain range and just has a large temple on its back

Plastic bits are dry fitted on for placement and such.

Thanks for checking this ridiculousness out

No idea who this is for yet lol final decisions soon 20220515_203119.jpg 20220515_203141.jpg 20220515_203215.jpg

Hey Everyone! I want to share a pretty big update for my custom Dragon Ogor Shaggoth named Kuugax! Kuugax is a narrative character I am building and I am really excited for his story. So here are some thoughts I've had on this Dragon Ogor Shaggoth Project

First and foremost I had asked what people thought about the wings, lots of responses which I really appreciated. I however decided to keep the wings and go with my original vision. I am extremely happy I did!

But it is the backstory of Kuugax that I'm really enjoying....!

As I write this homebrew for my Dragon Ogor Shaggoth named Kuugax and research the race a bit more in-depth the lore to me is a bit heartbreaking. To my understanding, the original Dragon Ogors made a bid for immortality with the Chaos Gods in return for their help in destroying a/the world. The key word(s) being “a” / ”the”, which to me using that logic means the Dragon Ogors fulfilled their side of the pact when The-World-That-Was was destroyed. But now what world do they live on? So they go to the next world, and the next but never being able to settle (or break / truly have a chance to give up on the pact) as Chaos continues to destroy worlds in their wake. Even when finding a home in Azyr in the early histories of the Mortal Realms they are forced out eventually by the arrival of Sigmar. And then again in Thondia during The War of Thirteen Peaks, the Dragon Ogors are nearly eradicated by the Drogrukh and the Draconith races. So, even after fulfilling their side of the pact thousands of times over they are never freed from their pact, and they can never settle because of it. For even the Draconith hated them due to their pact and turning their backs on the natural order (BR: Kragnos, Pg. 36).

So the central idea for Kuugax is that he remembers what once was a home that was taken from him and a thousand more, but never able to settle because of a pact he never agreed to and was born into. His eternal quest to find out how to break the pact that he feels he and his kin have upheld many times over. To do this he uses a beastherd to his own ends by masking his hidden purpose as pursuits for the Chaos Gods. He also is seeking out like-minded, if any exist, Dragon Ogors to rally with him when the time is right.

    What do you think?

Progress going slowly on the model so far 20220521_003446.jpg

Wow I never liked these wolf sculpts... until now with the orange fur! They look great like this, way better than in the traditional color scheme :artist:

Ha, thank you! That is very high priase and I am happy you enjoy them! I really love the color also (even if bias) and I agree I think a different color helps the sculpt itself.

Some scale work going on with Kuugax tonight, hoping to achieve a Jade like feel. Dry brushed and then a wash, I am now highlighting the scales individually with various greens before doing another light wash.

Lots of green on green, so might be hard to see in the picture.

Let me know what you think! 20220522_220600.jpg

Great progress, I like the look of him.
Jade is a great idea, it gives something omnius about his being.

I love the lore, never knew about the fate of the Dragon Ogors. It feels like a fitting narrative.

    Keep up the good work
