Hello, I'm fairly new to AoS, and I decided to start Seraphon as I got them from a friend. I have a fair amount of minis, but I don't know which subfaction should be my best fit. I am more inclined towards Starborne than coalesced tho, because I love the conjuration points concept.

    I currently have:
    Slann Starmaster
    Skink Oracle on Troglodon
    Skink Starpriest
    Oldblood on Carnosaur
    Bastiladon with solar engine
    Astrolith Bearer
    3·x Ripperdactyl
    20 x Skinks
    20 x Saurus warriors
    5 x Saurus Guard
    8 x Saurus knights
    3 x Kroxigors

Any advice on 1000, 1500 or 2000 pt lists? Which subfaction suits me best?

    Thanks in advance!

First of all, welcome to Lustria. If you have any questions about the forum or anything else, don't hesitate to ask. :)

    Now, your questions...
conj points are cool but they have been implemented very poorly. There are armies that can rely on summoning, but our mechanic don't support that well the concept, as we can grab a limited amount of points.
Starborne is solid for the teleport ability, but i wouldn't dismiss coalesced, especially with your models:
the shooting bastiladon in Thunder Lizard can shoot twice (HUGE at 1000 pts), and is supported by additional wounds and scaly skin.
The carnosaur will have an additional jaw attack, and the knights too... the knights will gain 2 attaks each, thus making them a solid target for the poison staff by the starpriest.

Alas ripperdactyls atm are not worth fielding, so for now i would leave them out of your lists.

Welcome to Lustria. I agree with @Killer Angel. Coalesced would fit your models a bit better. His suggestions about Thunder Lizards with a Bastiladon is solid. It's a shame you only have 8 Knights b/c two units of Knights are good battleline.

Starborne armies tend to rely on Salamanders (for damage) or lots of Skinks (for control) to summon and position around the board.

But, just have fun and test out both Starborne and Coalesced.

For Starborne, definitely have a Slann as your general along with an Astrolith to generate conjuration points. Add a unit of Saurus Guard, to help protect the Slann. Depending on how you and your group feel about proxies, you could play your Oldblood as a Scar-Vet on Carno and your Starpriest as a Priest. The Scar-Vet probably has a better command ability and the Priest is nice accent to the Bastiladon.

From there, you'll just have to play what you can.
    1000 pts
    Slann
    Astrolith
    Starpriest
    5 Guard
    5 Knights
    20 Warriors
    (970)
    or
    remove the Starpriest
    5 Guard
    5 Knights
    10 Warriors
    1 Bastiladon
    (985)

    1500 pts
    Slann
    Astrolith
    Starpriest
    Scar-Vet on Carno
    5 Guard
    5 Knights
    10 Warriors
    3 Kroxigor
    1 Bastiladon
    (1480)

With these lists, you can use your Skinks or possibly the other unit of Saurus for summoning units as you get conjuration points.

    Good luck!
