In the LM army book it states that the Slaan cannot leave the TG unit no matter what. Does that mean that the TG unit goes into the fulgrim with him, as the Slaan must occupy the structure?
Yep until we get an FAQ update then my local store has been playing that they cannot leave the unit. In the meantime I've been using skink priests to hold the fulcrums as they are significantly cheaper and therefore the miscasts are less of a worry when they do happen.
Good strategy. Though I am tempted to use Tehenuin. One on One combat with a lord that has poisoned attacks, and buffs from the lore of beasts? Bring it!
I would think that the TG would form around the fulcrums as if it the slann himself. but i dont have SoM so idk if that would be right
RAW is that slann cannot leave TG to enter/surmount fulcrum and TG cannot enter/surmount due to only one model rule. TG just don't work in SoM. It is actually the only reason I am playing SoM as I was getting too bored of the slann TG hoarding all the points so I couldn't have any variety. Use SoM to do something different event if it means proxying your TG as normal/spear saurus.
I've found that Skink Priests are quite handy at defending themselves on the fulcrum, outside of combat of course. I've found that in every Storm of Magic game I've played my opponent has sent their big flying beasties towards my fulcrums, and guess who is weak to the Lore of Heavens? Also they have an amazing remains in play cataclysm spell that is probably at least as useful as Throne of Vines. I can't remember the name but it affects all friendly wizards and allows you to re-roll casting and dispel dice, perhaps also channeling not too sure on them. I've managed to take down a chimera, cockatrice and a pack of harpies on their way to bother my priest just by targeting them with the lore of heavens. Of course if they get into combat you have to pray to the dice gods you roll well on your ward save lol.
