OK, since I don't have the time to repeat everything that is in the giant blog post, I will stick with a few images and a link to the nearly completed Temple Guard unit. Adpeticon is only 2 days away! http://wappellious.blogspot.com/2012/04/finishing-temple-guard-for-adepticon.html
Very nice work! That looks really impressive. Could we get a few shots of the unit champion on the right in the first picture.
Thanks! It's hard to say exactly how much time any one thing takes, since I am usually working on hundreds of minis at any one time. I use baked sculpey clay rolled out in sheets to make the bases. It takes about a half hour to roll it out and bake it, then let it cool for a few hours. For broken floor bases like these, you proceed to break up the sheets into various sized chunks, and carve away! Carving the designs on them does take a lot longer, though. The same for adding the green stuff leaves and vines. I try to do something unique with each base, bu the middle guys usually get designs on them, with the outer ones getting the leaves and vines. Hard to rank up otherwise! Yes, lots of glazing done on these figures. That jepled establish all the color variations from each TG to the next!
