    Hi Guys,

My disclaimer, i'm new.. these are some ideas i'm throwing around for the 2250 point army i'm going to model/paint.. So i'm looking for thoughts and ideas, before i go and splash out the cash payments my dear Mr Kevin Dudd is handing out.

    Characters
    Tiktaq'to (1) Hero
    Terradon Riders (9)

    Skink Priest
    Level 2 Wizard
    Ancient Stegadon

    Core
    Skink Skirmishers (10)
    Skink Skirmishers (10)

    Saurus Warriors (24)
    Standard Bearer
    Musician
    Saurus Warriors (24)
    Standard Bearer
    Musician

    Special
    Cold One Riders (5)

    396 Points Remaining.

My thoughts so far, this I guess is a core i've been working on.

Issues, no Battle Standard Bearer... Looking at either a Skink Cheif or Saurus Scar Veteran.. Thoughts on the best way to approach this?

Skink Skirmishers are mostly to block and delay.
Saurus Warriors for the bulk of my middle line.
Tiktaq'To and the attached Terradon Unit are ideally going to enter the battle after turn 2 and flank the enemy. (Ideally dealing with Wizards/War Machines, mitigating one weakness - Dispel Dice or a lack thereof).
    Cold One Riders, flanking unit.
Skink Priest and EotG - Following behind the Skink Skirmishers and between the Saurus Warrior units.

Do I have sufficient Core choices to bulk out the army?

What additional choices would you suggest?

What magic items would best suit/assist this army?

Don't post pts cost for items and spesific upgrades. check out the forum rules if you are not aware of these.

An additional stegadon (perhaps another EotG if he plays magic heavy), Gor-Rok to catch his witch elves and other low-S nasties. Personally I dislike Tiktaq'to, he costs too much for a skink chief who probably wont be in game for the first 2-3 rounds. I'd replace him with a regular terradon riding skink chief, saves up a couple of hundered points.

Ace is right, Tiqtaq'To doesn't have enough going on for him to make his points cost worthwhile. I wouldn't advance the Steg between your foot troops, put it out on one flank and then they're both protected by solid, reliable units.

Do I have sufficient Core choices to bulk out the army?
Definitely, in fact I would say your 2 units of 24 Saurus are more than enough bulk, perhaps too much but that would depend on what you were playing. Good number of Skinks.

What additional choices would you suggest?
With the points freed up from Tiqtaq'To I'd personally put in a Slann if you want to dominate magically, there's plenty of points there to make him a worthwhile purchase and it would solve your Battle Standard problem.

Unfortunately I have to agree with the consencus of opinion here about Tiktaq'to, though I do love the imagery of that huge Terradon unit appearing behind the enamy and dropping 10 D3 rocks all over the enemies toughest unit! :)

you don't have to bring Tiktaq'to in his special way you can place him like normal it is just an option i would personally almost never use him that way unless i had the D3 heavens roll going for me so i could bring him out a little easier if you use him basicaly as a chief on a terrie i could see him being feasiable as his points aren't outragous for a special character

You do know Second sign of Amul lasts until the end of the turn and that Tiktaq'to checks on start of the turn, right?
