Hi fellow saurians, skinks and other lovely reptilians! I'm about to start playing tournament and the format is pretty much always 1000 points in my local gamestore as it's easier to play for everyone. I never played in tournaments before but I played a lot for 2 years (I started in 2019) and almost only Seraphon (4 games of Stormcast and 2 of Nighthaunt). So I tried this list which I think is a good start : Allegiance: Seraphon - Constellation: Fangs of Sotek - Mortal Realm: Ghur - Grand Strategy: Prized Sorcery - Triumphs: Leaders Slann Starmaster (265)* - General - Command Trait: Arcane Might - Artefact: Amulet of Destiny (Universal Artefact) - Spell: Stellar Tempest Skink Starpriest (130)* Skink Priest (80)* - Artefact: Arcane Tome (Universal Artefact) - Universal Prayer Scripture: Heal Battleline 30 x Skinks (225)* - Boltspitters Celestite Daggers & Star Bucklers - Reinforced x 2 5 x Saurus Guard (115)* Behemoths Bastiladon with Ark of Sotek (185) Core Battalions *Warlord Additional Enhancements Artefact Total: 1000 / 1000 Reinforced Units: 2 / 2 Allies: 0 / 200 Wounds: 65 Drops: 6 (the only "prob is the ward artefact on the slann which is supposed to be the FoS artefact) Anyway Im asking you any advice you can give to improve the list (i have atlest 1 of each model) or even tips to play better in tournaments. Hey! My local community is often playing 1000 pts games too! Right now Thunder Lizard Constellation is pretty powerful, compared to others. I love Koatl's Claw (Sauruses! Scary big lizards!) Recently, I managed to score third place in my local tournament (12 players) with this list: Allegiance: Seraphon - Constellation: Koatl's Claw - Grand Strategy: Hold the Line - Triumphs: Leaders Saurus Scar-Veteran on Cold One (110) - General - Command Trait: Dominant Predator - Artefact: Eviscerating Blade Skink Priest (80) - Universal Prayer Scripture: Heal Battleline 5 x Saurus Knights (110) - Lances 5 x Saurus Knights (110) - Lances 5 x Saurus Knights (110) - Lances 5 x Saurus Knights (110) - Lances Behemoths Bastiladon with Ark of Sotek (185)* Bastiladon with Ark of Sotek (185)* Core Battalions *Alpha-Beast Pack **Battle Regiment Total: 1000 / 1000 Reinforced Units: 0 / 2 Allies: 0 / 200 Wounds: 71 Drops: 3 Saurus Knights our best option right now, especially in Koatl's Claw (+1 to hit on charge). Ark of Sotek is unreliable stuff, but it's a very cheap monster option and it can hold objectives. I don't know about ur list though. On one hand - there is plenty mortal wounds output (Slann, skinks), but who will be contesting objectives? Bastiladon? Sure he can, but in one game against Gloomspite Gitz my Bastiladon just vaporised against Loonboss on Mangler Squigs. 30 skinks is your main hitting power, spitting MW. When they die (and with 5+, oh boy they will) - you will be left with Slann, his bodyguards, 2 squishy heroes and a monster. Big monsters feeling good in 1k games - Skink Chief in Thunderlizards, Engine of the Gods, Stegadons overall. Just play more games, experiment with lists and find the one you prefer. I have another tournament tomorrow and will try Engine of the Gods, 6 kroxigors and 2 knights, along with 2 starpriest and priest (one of them will be in Pyramid, shooting mortals and the other one will support kroxigors). All in warlord (for extra artefact Cloak of Feathers on EotG)
Just won a local tournament with this list: Allegiance: Seraphon - Constellation: Thunder Lizard - Grand Strategy: Pillars of Belief - Triumphs: Leaders Engine of the Gods (265)* - General - Artefact: Cloak of Feathers Skink Starpriest (130)* - Artefact: Fusil of Conflaguration - Spell: Hand of Glory Skink Priest (80)* - Universal Prayer Scripture: Heal Battleline 5 x Saurus Knights (110)* - Lances 5 x Saurus Knights (110)* - Lances Units 6 x Kroxigor (300) - Reinforced x 1 Core Battalions *Warlord Additional Enhancements Artefact Total: 995 / 1000 Reinforced Units: 1 / 2 Allies: 0 / 200 Wounds: 64 Drops: 6 20 players (19 actual and 1 proxy). Priest is always sitting in RealmEngine and spittin' MW and buffing EotG. EotG rushing towards enemy with 8" + 4" (cloak) + 6" autorun (and Priest's ability allows him to charge and shoot after). Starpriest is babysitting Kroxys - 6 on To wound mortals, +1 to hit for Skink near, Hand of Glory spell, prayer (6+ ward) on either them or EotG. They're powerful and tanky with All-out defence (3+ and 6+ ward). Knights here are just for screening and supporting Kroxies and EotG.
