AoS 1k take and hold army list

    Hey guys,

    I'm realitively new to the game. Seraphon was my first army choice. I'm playing in an escalation league and the first objective is take and hold I'm torn between these two army lists. What is your thoughts? Also, I'm playing another Seraphon player.

    Shadowstrike List (1000/1000) - Sounds like a fun list I've seen somewhere. My only concern is that the skinks are weak and if I lose them I don't have any way to capture both points for a major victory.

    Skink star priest (General) - Artefact: Incadescent Rectrices Trait: Master of Star Rituals

    Eternal Starhost List (970/1000) - Playing seraphon, I don't think I have to deal with mortal wounds unless he brings in a Kroak, which I could rush and take down. This gives me guards with saves of 2+ if I understand the rules correctly and keep my battalion group up. The thought is to hold my point until I know their army down and then move/teleport as needed to their objective.

    Saurus Eternity Warden - Artefact: Prism of Amyntok

    Any other army lists? I have pretty much everything, including 2 bastilidons (my favorite unit). Thoughs/ideas?

    Hey, I recognize those list.

    I like them both and play them often. The Shadowstrike is better. I have a slew of other list as well in my signature thread. However, you have likely already found the thread if you have these two list.

    Any particular reason you dropped the palisade from the Eternal Starhost? Not that rolling for a triumph is ever a bad thing.

    This has the potential to be a pretty swingy list. Lots of 2 D6 shoots. The Shadowstrike and Eternal Starhost are much more consistent, but if they don't have a way to deal with the Bastiladons then you can do a lot of damage.

    The only reason is I dont have it. Also I think I found your lists a while back before I joined this group. Funny how that worked out.

    Really like the bastiladon list. Now I'm torn...

    If you want to get those sweet rerolls and light summoning you could also drop the Skink Starpriest plus 10 skinks in oder to add a Saurus Astrolith Bearer. I think the Starpriest is a better option though. Master of Star Rituals and a Wizard is pretty handy.
