So im tinkering with my list and i've got around 350 points unaccounted for that i want to use to add some damage in. I'm not adding any more salamanders and already have both an EoTG and Basti in the list. Playing thunder lizard and looking at the options, i've got a few different ideas but not sure what to pick (i know i could just take more Salamanders but i like a little diversity in my lists):

    Celestant Prime 325pts
    - Tanky, high rend and hits like a bus if you drop him in turn 3 or more.
    - Deep strikes and guarantees charge
    - Guaranteed mortals at range (compliments Comets Call and Realmshaper)
    - Weak if you bring him in too early
    - Doesn't benefit from faction spells and abilities

    Kroxigor x6 300pts
    - Reasonably tough, pretty fighty and decent all round.
    - Moonhammers nice against hoardes
    - Unlikely to get them all into combat to benefit from all the attacks
    - Keyword issues means they are limited in buffs they can recieve
    - No utility

    Stegadon w/Skink Chief 305pts
    - Great utility, priest+hero+monster
    - Shoots
    - Tanky, fighty and a monster for scoring VP's

    Razordons 2x2/4x1 380pts
    - Shoots
    - Free unleash hell
    - Good in both melee and at range
    - Good board presence by taking extra units
    - Unreliable damage and low bravery
    - No utility

Carnosaur 215pts (already have one in list)
    - Good Damage
    - Fairly fast
    - Some utility, hero+monster
    - Cheap, allows for another support hero
    - Swingy, has a punishing declining profile

    Camo Skinks 1x15/3x5 345pts
    - Deep Strikes
    - Decent MW output
    - Shoots
    - No utility

I ran the numbers and oddly, the best output comes from the razordons of all things (Prime is based on a turn 3 drop), is there some secret tech lurking there or am i being too hopeful?

2x3 units of kroxigor can run alongside your Eotgs to act as body guards and they get buffed by it since skink and it can heal them fairly well.
the other option is to bring a stegadon to hit hard and also to make use of the EotGs healing.
somthing you didn't consider but is always a very good option is a anointed on frostheart. the -1 wound aura is one heck of a defensive buff he can buff himself when he gets into combat and he gets more durable when his allies cast spells(somthing we do quite a lot of)
im not sure how your getting so much damage out of razordons. are you counting both their range and their melee?

Kroxigor don't have the Skink keyword, i playtested both Annointed Pheonix's and i wasn't impressed. The -1 wound aura is great but the range is really short so getting the benefit of it where you want it is a challenge. The flameheart actually played a lot better but still wasn't great.

no but the stegadon does. therefor buffing the krox by being nearby.
it's a 9" aura at full health on a 16" move very durable flyer i don't know how you are having trouble using it. it's rare i get a game in where it doesn't come into play 10+ times.

You need at least 1 skink priest. Once you add that in the amount of points you have to spend does tighten up. You could drop a single 10 of warriors to add in the prime or phoenix (i think the best options of what you have above). Or you could add 2 priests and another 10 of warriors or another screen.

Im tempted to drop a stegadon and split the skinks into 2x10, that would give me another 265 to add in either:

    Skink Priest + Skink Starpriest
Skink Priest + Saurus Sunblood + Emerald Lifeswarm

sunblood is a trap. his buff only works on the warriors but no longer stacks with anything else. it ends up being the same as the scar vet you already have.

What would you be buffing with the starpriest? There's really nothing with quantity of shots in your list.

Scar Vet gives exploding 6s but the sunblood gives +1 wound.you can't stack them on the same unit but they can buff each other or the warriors if I need them to kill something. I figured he'd make a good self sufficient support piece to follow around the big block of warriors and give them some more punching power. He's got mortals on hits and wounds, a solid 3+ save and a decent attack profile. He's fairly self sufficient for his points cost and it means I can send my buffed up Carnosaur to go tear through some screens without leaving them high and dry.

I was mainly interested in the starpriest for his casting and the extra CP. Blinding Starlight is a fantastic spell I can get off fairly reliably against anyone who isn't Tzeentch. His staff is just a bonus to give something a little extra punching power.

At 120-130 points there's not many better options than the starpriest or the sunblood and I feel like I'm lacking in utility pieces. I'm pretty attached to the big brick of warriors the 32mm bases they make them a great screen against dragons and eels trying to alpha strike. With the -1 damage, emerald lifeswarm, heals and rally they tarpit pretty well so I'd rather give up a stegadon if I need to work some utility pieces in.

for a 1 damage attack they are indistinguishable. for the scar vet . 6s to hit give you a second hit a one in 6 chance a increase of 16.7%, for the sunblood they now wound on 2s a 1 in 6 chance a increase of 16.7%. you never want to buff the sun blood as he does not benefit at all from the scarvets ability(he already gets 2 hits on 6s) and even if he did your spending a CP to get a increase of less then 1 damage.
if you had more saurus units it might make more sence but as is you have 2 heroes that only buff saurus and the scar vet can only buff the warriors as 2 hits on 6s don't stack and both of the heroes have it. if anything the sunblood would be around to buff the scarvet but he isn't fast enough to keep up with him and he is competing with all out attack.

I wouldn't drop the steg, personally.

    This list fits into 2500

    Leaders
    Engine of the Gods (265)
    Saurus Scar-Veteran on Carnosaur (215)
    Slann Starmaster (265)
    Skink Starpriest (130)
    Skink Priest (80)

    Battleline
    30 x Saurus Warriors (315)
    10 x Skinks (75)
    10 x Skinks (75)
    Stegadon (265)
    Stegadon (265)

    Units
    2 x Salamander Hunting Pack (280)

    Behemoths
    Bastiladon with Solar Engine (250)

    Total: 2480 / 2500
    Reinforced Units: 3 / 4
    Allies: 0 / 400
    Wounds: 131

IMO i'd find a way to weasel in a single chamo skink unit, but its not a bad build. Maybe start there and see what parts of it you like!
