Hello, this is what I've managed to do, and made a base out of plywood. How do I base this thing? It's freakin' huge!
Mine are Aqshy themed lava lizards, so whilst this maybe won't help you much, I'm planning on building out a mini volcano and a small broken down temple scene which it looks like he's slightly climbing over
In a greenish dino I'll do something similar to his color (natural camouflage on predators). Vince Venturella has an awesome tutorial to do jungle bases. Here is an example of his tutorial. Some cork, lot of messy dirt, little but varied vegetation, some ruins (optional), looots of dark washes and dry brush with greens and yellows. By the way, great painting job with the dread!
The Dread looks amazing! What about a swamp type base? As If he's the Swamp Thing coming out of the lagoon to terrorize the world? (I suck at doing modelling and painting, but it's an idea at least? Maybe with the same techniques by which you make lake scenery)
I'm having this problem as well.... such a hig base. Going to put jungle terrain and a partly ruined temple on it. Post updates when you have them!
Did a bit of work my dread saurian base. Going add some aquarium plants to make up the jungle foliage....
Not ambushing your thread but hopefully these might give you a few ideas. Forgive the painting on the dread, I need to touch up some areas after my child introduced it to the effects of gravity!
