    Easter is upon us, and so it's time for some raisin'.
    Long time ago, Lustria Online was used to host a painting competition (there were even prizes!).
    That time has passed, but we would like to start again a painting comp., albeit a friendly one, with glory as prize (kinda like our short story comp)


    So here I am, I'm glad to present you the first

    FEATHERED SERPENT PAINTING COMPETITION​

    Welcome to you all!

    In The Feathered Serpent, we pick a different theme each time, and the goal is to represent the theme or find ways to turn it to the ways of the Old Ones.

    The theme of this competition, as chosen by me, is "SAURIAN SAVAGERY".

    Get in (cold) touch with your inner beast of war and let it roar!
    You are also encouraged to use models or parts from whatever army you feel like, not restricted to Lizardmen / Seraphon only. It could be a single model or a whole unit of them, of all scales (pun intended) and sizes.

    Original models (sculpts) and conversions are allowed.

    The Prize: The winner earns the glory and a place in the incoming Hall of Fame thread. The winner also gets to select the theme of the next painting challenge.

    The Rules:
    • All models entered should not have been painted more than a year ago from the date the entry thread is closed. This will not be enforced but violators will politely be asked to retract their entry.
    • All miniatures presented must have been painted by the entrant.
    • Max one entry per person.
    • Max 3 images per entry (including pictures in collages), of reasonable size.
    • No voting for your own entry.
    • (for now) Open entries and open voting. Everyone can see who painted what.
    • Models can be of any manufacturer and conversion but must fulfill the criteria of the given theme.
    • A diorama is a valid entry, as long as it fits the theme.

    The Schedule:

    Week 1: Theme announcement and entry thread created
    Week 6, Saturday, may 13th: Entry thread closed. Voting thread opened.
    Week 8, Saturday, may 27th: Voting thread closed. Result announced. Winner asked about next theme.


    This thread is now open for people to post their entries. Please state a name of the entry along with the pictures. The thread closes on the 13th of May 2023 at (roughly) 23:59 (but we are not in a hurry, we can easily extend it if someone needs to finish their entry). You can also comment and discuss in this thread, it is not restricted exclusively for entries.

    I'll try to enter, though I'll have to get hold of a model suitable for the theme first... hmm time to give it a think

    Just a small note: I think you accidentally wrote that the entry thread closes on the 13. of March instead of May.

    Looking back through the models I've completed in the last year, there's no saurus other than the knights I just speedpainted o_O. Womp womp, maybe next time :D

    I certainly plan to - won't be finished before next weekend though.

    I really hope others will submit as well, so I hope there is something in your "pile of uncompleted stuff" :)

    I will try and enter, though we'll see if I can get what I have in mind done in time.

    I think agree with @jinjerJosh22 , go ahead and keep the theme as it is. Gives me something specific to bracket out and attempt to plan for if nothing else.

    Now if only I could find that 3D printed dude I bought a few years back and never started... :D

    If nothing else I believe I have a box of the Lizardmen Underworlds team somewhere too!
