Greetings from across the pond! New to this site & new to Age Of Sigmar Looking forward to being apart of this community! SerraphonOne
Pretty mixed. We have guys and gals from the UK, the USA, Canada, Germany, Russia, Austria, some other European countries, also some from South America and Australia I think.
Welcome to the forums! We probably have more Americans than anything else, but I doubt Americans make up 50% of the site. We also support every lizard based game be it Warhammer, Age of Sigmar, or Kings of War. We also have a good mix of game play threads, painting threads, and fluff threads.
Welcome to LO, freshly spawned one! (May i also add that while the forum is mostly about scaly stuff, all of your posts need not be only seraphon. If you happen to do other stuff you can still post about that in your blog I love that about LO, it's a predominantly lizardy community but not quite a monomaniac one ) Anyway, have fun!
I assumed it would be predominately Americans yeah, Wasn't sure if their would be a lot of UK natives about hence my across the pond comment. Warhammer, i take it you mean Fantasy? Aka classic Lizard men? How new is Age of Sigmar btw? late 2017? Kings of War doesnt ring any bells with me, hmmm is this fairly new?
Well i do love my lizards & amphib's but good to know incase any other models ever catch my eye! (Always seemed to have a soft spot for Night Goblins for some reason)
AoS is from late 2015 actually but it didn't really kick in until the release of the first Generals Handbook in mid 2016. Kings of War has been around for a while, not sure how long exactly though.
so nearly 4 years, damn, that slipped under the radar! Kings of War i've not heard of at all, will probably check that out too, take it that its not popular?
Not compared to Warhammer 40k or AoS but it has a growing fan base. I would test it but it requires square bases so I am out.
Whats you're beef with square bases? or is it just squares in general? like did a square assault you or victimize you're family or something? Don't be Shapist man!
Haha no I don't mind square bases (although IMO they don't look as good as round ones) but the main reason is: ALL of my models (except one) are on rounds and I play AoS which also uses rounds. I am not going to rebase my models. Thats pretty sad because I'd love to test 9th age or Kings of War.
The special one is my very first model, my Starpriest. The stairs he stands on fit the square base and I had NO clue about the game and read the base doesn't matter. So I just glued him on the square base. I will rebase him to a round one soon I think because now he is the odd one out. If you want to see him, check out my blog (link is in my signature below), he's my first post.
Welcome to the forum! We also have some very vocal "minorities"! July 2015. There are still those of us that represent the square bases proudly!
It's been a round a while, but it's surged as it got a lot of die hard 8th edition fans since it's quite similar to Warhammer 8th, just a little bit simpler, especially with magic spells. To my understanding Kings of War is more popular in the United States. Also forgot 9th Age, which didn't really catch on in the US much. I may be somewhat bitter because they didn't like my fluff writing... Also, you can take my rectangular bases when you can pry them from my cold scaly undead hands.
