Not sure what to make my carnosaur up as, will use it for both sigmar and fantasy but mainly sigmar. Appreicate the help and criticism. Thanks, TurtleDogg
A Carnosaur is generally better in 8th edition than a Troglodon. A Trogolodon looks cool but it's an acquired taste. In order to use a Troglodon tactically you practically have to build your whole army around it.
I can't speak of AoS, but in 8th edition Scalenex is definitely correct about he Carnosuar being superior to the Troglodon. The Troglodon in 8th edition is perhaps our poorest choice from a competitive standpoint.
The Troglodon test is very strict. Are you taking a Slann? Does your Slann have Lore of Fire, High Magic, Light, or Death? Is over a third of the points of your army made up of units that have Predatory Fighter? Do you have at most one mobile Skink Priest to serve as an Arcane Vassal? Do you have at least one other large dinosaur already? If you answered yes to all of these questions. Maybe you want a Troglodon. The Carnosaur test is much simpler. Do you want a Carnosaur? Can you fit it in the points restrictions?
make the Carny and then use the spares to do something like this, http://www.lustria-online.com/threads/troglodon-conversion.14723/
i mainly play 8th with my group , and i didn't have a trogladon when we were playing AoS. i have fielded both options in 8th (i don't understand the hate on the trogladon at all). i have a lot of fun using it as most (if not all my opponents believe what they hear and think it is a waste of pts). until i have an army wide buff to pred fighter w/ a missile node from which to blast spells from while my slann is chilling in his bunker in the back ground. In saying that though build the carno they are way more versatile and fun to play and you don't need to build your army around having one in it
