Blog Human blood bowl team

Hi

I'm planning my next project and need some input. I know Stormcast are not everyones favorit...

I'm planning a female human blood bowl team build out of stormcast sequitors. I know by the descritption that 4 female heads are included.

Does anyone know if other sets also have female heads included and are they different?

- there is Neave Blacktalon
- the Evocaters have one
- the Vindicators have one you might possibly describe as female
- the Vigilors have two that will pass as female
- the Vanquishers have one
- the Cellestar Balista has one

I just realized that etsy has a lot heads for adeptus soroitas. And this gave me an idea of how to paint them.

Since Nuffel is the God of dice I will paint them as nuns

 

I hope you don't mind when I'm bringing up some more blood bowl content which isn't connected to Lizards.

So I'm starting a new project ( although the lizards are not fully completed) , a human nun team.

And here is my first sister. She will be my big guy.

Sister Maria no Mercy. Remodeled from a blood bowl ogre. Properly not the best sculpt ever been but hey...

How can I make the green stuff more smooth?

 

Someone more experienced can answer that one. I personally think it should be a bit rough as it is supposed to be fabric, right?

 

The same here: I haven't actually worked with greenstuff before, but I think it can be done with sculpting tools and making sure you keep them wet throughout the sculpting process. Is that somewhat correct @Sudsinabucket ?

Yep! That's what I do, especially if metal

 

To add to this, Parchment paper works wonders also. Just sandwich it with parchment on either side and it'll get smooth and flat, Parchment naturally doesn't stick to it

 

Thanks guys. I will try it next time. This time it was to late to change something. My boys came back from kindergarten and wanted dad to play with them. And after they were in bed, the green stuff was all ready hard. So I just primed her.

 

I think it will look great once painted. Just make sure you do highlights and washes and then the roughness will come across as sack-cloth or something similar which she is wearing.

 

First thrower for my team. Sister Hail Mary I'm unsure about removing the "Neck Shield". What do you think?

 

Leave it, but think of some kind of paint scheme for it that would make it fit American Football.

 

Color will ne withe clothes, black armor with Silver Highlights. Like Catholic nun's. Something like her:

I like the name for her
the 'neck shield' is ok, not great, but also not bad.
