Hello boys and girls and welcome to Let's Get Motivated - November 2020 This thread is too get us motivated each month into finishing projects that we have on the go, the rules are fairly simple. At the start of the month post what you intend to try and finish this month, it can be models/terrain/conversions of any game type. No pressure if you don't finish anything this is for motivation nothing else. Around the middle of the month post your progress, no images please, if you have want to share your progress with images, upload them into your blog and supply a link. Around the end of the month post your progress, again no images, if you have finished a piece upload the images into your blog and supply a link. The reason I don't want images in this thread is too get everyone that takes part views in their personal blog where the community can critique, etc. You don't have a paint blog? well get one started in this forum section. If you need advice etc. post here and the community will try and answer. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone share their progress Grrr, Imrahil
My aim for this month is to get my second batch of Star Wars Legion minis built and ready to prime when we get a dry enough day. If I accomplish enough building I will start to paint the 20 skinks I have primed already.
Got my warden king painted on saturday, but i have 10 oathmark dwarfs and a full SC Seraphon box to do. So my goal is simple. Finish the dwarfs and build the saurus warriors and knights as well as sourcing magnets for the carnosaur.
Okay, guys, I got nothing done last month. I played too much Dark Souls 3. This month, I'll get more realistic goals. So I'd like to: - Finish my 15 Saurus, some highlights and the spears left. - Finish the highlights on my second Bastiladon. - Paint 10 Cold Ones, but I need your help (I'll explain later) - Paint 6 Terradons, only the mount - Paint 5 Saurus Guard - Paint Skink Priest conversion I made So, to paint my Cold Ones I had this is mind, and I fact I painted one Knight with this method and I liked it, but, I've seen this other video and some pictures like this one and this other one, where you have the Cold One's skin on a whole different color than the scales and it's well distinguished. I like those ideas, but I feel like the second video is far more realistic. However, I don't know to wet blend.
That looks quite good, but takes a lot of time and practice(I guess). I went with this one, the first tutorial you linked. Here are some pictures for reference. Grrr, Imrahil
I appreciate that these threads keep cropping up in the painting section, it really keeps me going and working on future projects! This month I am still working on more Cryx, and maybe some samurai later.
Finished my September goal of five skinks. I painted them in September but only just based them. Knowing I procrastinate, and I'm super slow when I do sit down to paint I'm going to go for a maybe achievable 1 Terradon + rider for my warcry warband this month!
This month I have a couple projects I would like to tackle this month: - Start a painting blog in Painting and Converting - Stegadon with ballista - 3x Terradons - Realmgate Engine So far I have finished the stegadon dinosaur and the ballista. I have started now working on the skinks riding
Haven't posted in a while but the great plan would be to make my experimental Skink Priest this month a thing
I want to finish my DoK battleforce before thanksgiving. My roommate got me into this game so when I go home I let my dad borrow one of my armies and I play against him. My lizards are in a very good spot so if I can get a bunch of elves done I’ll have two fully painted armies to square off!
A little update: - Paint up 4 Orruk Ardboys - Rebase my Men of Gondor Army some progress on this one. Grrr, Imrahil
An update from me as we near the end of the month: This month I ended up going in a different direction after finishing the Stegadon, and painted up some LK chameleon skinks. Next up is the realmgate engine
I got swamped with looking after my dog. So i got my dwarfs based, added some more colour and a banner.
I managed to finish all the SW:Legion model building I wanted to get done in November. Unfortunately there are no suitable priming days on the horizon so I'll be painting some skinks in December by the looks of it haha
Final update: - Paint up 4 Orruk Ardboys (almost there, just need the Yellow markings, weathering scratches and bases to do) - Rebase my Men of Gondor Army some progress on this one. (Still 13 Warriors of Minas Tirith and a Bolt thrower with crew left to do) Grrr, Imrahil
In November I finished the last 4 Saurus Warriors of my unit of 20. The warriors report ready for action!
