Next in line is a Dwarf Master Engineer:
Dwarf Engineer 1.jpeg Dwarf Engineer 2.jpeg Dwarf Engineer 3.jpeg

Based off another Miner model, this chap had his Miner candles cut off his helmet and replaced with an artilleryman's mask with sights, again from the Cannon/Organ Gun kit, and the head of his pick replaced with a hammer head from the original 6th Edition Dwarf Warriors kit (unfortunately I don't have this beautiful kit, but have scavenged a few bitz from it at one of my local model shops).

Finally, something a little more ratty, a Warp Grinder team to assist my death squad of 10 Night Runners:

    Warp Grinder 2.jpeg

Two Night Runners from the kit trusted with a stolen Dwarf drill and explosives - what could possibly go wrong? ;)

    Cheers mate!

Actually he does - in Warhammer Fantasy a Dwarf Thane has a Strength of 4, same as that of a Saurus Warrior :D

Nice work on that cannon! A good looking conversion and a clever use of spare bits.

Well done on your conversions, very clever work.
I like this banner bearer the most, the new Lumineth banner bearer makes me think of models like this.

    +1

And now for something completely different, a project I've been working hard on all summer - scenery for a Greenskin encampment!
    IMG_20210907_100336.jpg IMG_20210907_100345.jpg IMG_20210907_100354.jpg IMG_20210907_100401.jpg

The watchtower above is another of my sprue creations, stuck on a card base and decorated with spare Greenskin shields and hanging skulls. It's big enough to fit 4 Orcs if they budge up enough.

Also I've made some huts for Boyz to live in:

    IMG_20210907_100547.jpg
    IMG_20210907_100557.jpg
These were again made largely with sprues, with card walls stuck on the outside and covered with tissue paper to represent roofs of animal skin. In hindsight I think I put too much tissue paper on them, but obviously the Greenskins lurk in an area filled with big monsters for them to hunt and krump.

Very nice work @Lord Agragax of Lunaxoatl . Looking good! I am a bit surprised though to see a fine upstanding Dwarf such as yourself making greenskin terrain ;)

But wait! There's more! I also made a tent worthy of a Warboss in the same way:

Well I have to give them something, because they're so cheap and expendable my Greenskin army is far fewer points in size in total than my Dwarf army despite having around the same number of models. Also I have some Dwarf terrain already so I might as well give the Greenies some too, and if anything it gives my Dwarfs something to destroy in a camp attack scenario :p

Sadly I haven't managed to kick-start my Beastman challenge this year, I've built the Bestigors and Bray-Shaman from my Start Collecting Box but haven't got any further than that.

However, as a New Year present to you all, I now reveal my Squig Hoppers that I received for Christmas the year before last, finished and ready to use in Warhammer Fantasy!
    IMG_20220101_095755.jpg IMG_20220101_095832.jpg IMG_20220101_100138.jpg IMG_20220101_095957.jpg

They fit pretty well on their correct Fantasy bases, a couple of the tallest are a little unsteady but that can be amended with a coin under the base. What's more they were great fun to paint, they took longer than expected which irked me a little but when you've got quality models like these, they deserve a bit of extra attention.

Got some more Greenskins in the works at the moment, but once they're finished, the Time of the Orc will be at an end, and the Age of the Beast will come!

It’s high time I added more to my painting blog, and as promised, the other half of my latest Greenskin project - five Stormboyz for 40K:
    032E3127-B23B-4476-9AF4-23CB8A489D00.jpeg 2E2CE279-8DB4-4EEB-B62D-59A5BDB1DE1A.jpeg E854056E-0462-47A7-9300-A96AB5D879CB.jpeg 1BC94176-2CFE-4996-98AE-2125A0A5D3EB.jpeg

These ladz are actually the second five to be added to my unit, the original quintuplet were painted (significantly less well due to being younger and less experienced or determined) ages before I joined the forum.

And something more Fantasy-oriented, an Orc Great-Shaman and three more Big’Uns for the unit largely completed earlier in this blog:
    BCA9F656-1D38-42FB-A823-141D2A673651.jpeg E2E0C33A-6DA0-451B-B2D8-448135664614.jpeg B0F578D6-35E4-4D7B-91F8-667776DA43F8.jpeg 4C4F2E86-7517-443E-8D68-B738A53E5415.jpeg

The Shaman was made out of a single Orc Boy model I found in the independent retailer I get most of my second-hand buys from, with his arms reposed, the right hand replaced with a Savage Orc Spear that looked barely sharp enough to be one and adorned with Savage Orc and Lizardman trinkets and fetishes, and the left hand replaced with a Savage Orc bone dagger hand that looked particularly shamanic. The head is one of two for the Runtherd from the 40K Gretchin kit, that looks perfectly at home on a Fantasy model.

The other three Orcs mainly consist of ancient 3rd Edition monopose white plastic Orcs from the same retailer, that had their arms and heads clipped off and replaced with current Fantasy Orc Boy bitz scavenged from the same shop and my existing bitz box, and painted in the style of my other Big’Uns. Their smaller size means they’re probably the runts of this Big’Un unit, but Orcs can easily take a lot more different shapes and sizes than even humans, so I’m still pleased with them.

I’m particularly pleased with the washing done on the metal parts of all the models with Nuln Oil, and with the look of the parts painted with the Runelord Brass paint I got with Issue 2 of Imperium, that was always a paint I was aiming to get and it doesn’t disappoint.

Now, time for something a bit more primal...
