Hi, (oops should have not have gone in the logs forum) Today i received a second hand OLD metal stegadon in the mail. This one! And i have a few questions 1. I really like the model but was quite surprised on how small he is. So how does he compare size wise with the current model? 2. what base is he supposed to go on? (chariot base?) 3. What parts should i pin ? I will definately do the tail anyway, but the rest does not look entirely necessary...or am i wrong here? thx
Moving this to the Painting forum I guess... Yes this stegadon is a fair bit smaller than the new plastic stegadon. It won't matter in a game though. Chariot base is correct, looking at that photo on the chariot base... The new one has a shorter tail, but its whole body easily fills the chariot base so it is a lot bulkier. For large metal models, pretty much every part should be pinned except for really small light pieces.
I just wanted to include some snapshots of the difference of the old and new Stegs. Please note that the new Steg isn't painted (yet!) so please don't hold that against me! - Lord Cedric
Hmmm maybe the tails are about the same lengths afterall. It just looks shorter on the new one because the body is much larger and the tail is fatter.
Thx Cedric A shame one isn't painted yet Actually a huge difference, and balck is supposed to make thinner. But i prefer the old one (also because i got it dead cheap ). I guess i just have to be a bit more relaxed about Line of Sight when fielding the old one.
To my eyes, they are simply two different species of the same animal. One is larger with an intermediate ridge, and the other is smaller but with a huge ridge. You are both amazing to me to see in an army. I love it!
