Ha, if its because of a certain drawing, then there is a reason for that! Good!

I definitely took inspiration from lizardmen art, the arcanodon, diplodocus, and yeah! I do, in retrospect, wish i would have curved the tail more.

 

So, I did something I said I wouldn't do, which was buying more models for my Seraphon. I bought another Saurus SC. I wanted it for a few reasons... it is a bit treasure trove, for one. And with the new saurus coming i figure these older designs of icons, etc will be gone soon. I also wanted to even out this current generation of saurus warriors (clubs) within my army so i have 20 spears and 20 clubs. And i also wanted another Carnosaur to to use as a Carnosaur or to kitbash - and i kitbashed a little.

I wanted to make a mounted scar vet with a backstory of being blessed by Tzunki, and with that in mind i decided to make a Suchomimus type dinosaur, a river monster of sorts. The fun part and more creative part is the headdress for the dino im making, which ive always have wanted to do. This is the mock up so far. Deciding on what greenstuff will be needed.

I am trying hard not to buy more Seraphon until the summer. I stiil have 80+ Warriors to work through and accompanying icons and stuff.

Thanks! Definitely a fun one, i dunno, ive wanted to do a headdress like this for awhile and wanted a scar vet lol so here we are. Making progress on it today, gave it some iguanodon thumbs, ha.

Back to painting soon though, much to finish.

In my original mock up I had a strap going down the nose instead of the added horns. Leaning going back that way, but curious of thoughts.

Today's my birthday, and its a beautiful rainy day Im stoked.

Painting, great food, video games and just relaxing the day away is my plan

Beautiful day to prime yesterday

 

Been working on the saddle a bit for my unique saurus character, and it has a lot of work to go still. I primed white, which I normally don't do - so definitely a learning curve going on. My Gold is very yellow atm, so need to tone it down/darken some. The feathers and jade are coming together, though a little early on. We're moving tho!

Gold is looking better with more colors (and gold) added around it, but still needs some darkening. Getting close to done though I think? Still some green vines to paint in and such. Most of this is done with contrast paint, only caliban green and Retribution Armor are non contrasts used so far - which I never do, ao another learning session for me here.

*I may also prime the monster white so i can match the golds....which terrifies me, partly because I think my painting on white looks crap as heck*

 

I finally primed the beastie today after a few last things, I decided to continue learning to paint on white - and I'm real nervous lol

I first had to do some sculpting which included making some eyes which are shown. I also did some webbed fingers, as its a river monster and i thought it would be a fun touch.

This is the scheme I've decided on. The scheme I use for my dino in Path of Titans.

I'm thinking, lorewise, most of these creatures are more American Alligator in color, but this one is a rare albino type
