    Hey guys,

Welcome to another project thread. This time about a project that came out of nowhere for me. (Side note: sorry about the different threads and reposting to my main blog. It's easier to direct different people to more focused threads than my main blog.)

I was reading some Nurgle lore the other day. I happen to really like Nurgle, and as far as chaos gods he's my personal choice. That or hashut.

But where other people see the jovial grandfather grinning for bringing joyus growth and contagion, I prefer the darker image of nurgles forces.

I always imagined maruaders of nurgle to be sickly looking, but also wiry and strong. Clothed in scraps of fabric, with mutations and pustules across thier forms. Double chins all around, though.

They may be wiry, but thier still followers of Grandfather, and he does make his children blessed.

So when I scrolled on from that Nurgle lore and saw a post about someone's new box of Guttippas (the basic troop choice for Kruleboyz) an idea started to germinate.

One of the other things I have been doing lately is sculpting. Or at least, I've decided to try, after years of thinking I would only be rubbish at it.

So that's another thing this army will be for me, an experiment in taking things slow and applying advanced modeling techniques. And further practicing sculpting.

Lore wise, these guys are set up in a swamp in Ghur. After the battle of the burning skies and sigmars closing of the gates to Azyr, many human cities and tribes were left behind.

One, was this tribe of humans (name tbd) who lived as nomads in a swamp equivalent in size (in my head) to the size of a state like Georgia. In the mortal realms, ecology is supplemented by magic, hence the size. They supplied trackers to sigmars armies in Ghur.

Anyway, Nurgle sees a new plaything, and a plague starts ravaging thier entire tribe. Boils and a wasting of the body.

Then the toad appears. Small and insignificant looking, on a stump in the middle of thier village. Except that it's eyes have 3 pupils each.

The village shaman takes it as a sign, and says that the sick must lick the toad to be cured. So they do, and slowly mutate and evolve into, well, Nurgle aligned maruaders controlling a vast area of swamp and fighting alternately with the kruleboyz and whoever else wanders In.

This is my first miniature of two I did as a first time conversion, and I plan to iterate and improve from these two.

Interesting idea! Those models look good, I never would have though kruleboyz would have made good nurgle demons but looks like I was wrong.

Jotting down notes and ideas. Commentary welcome.

Different uses for gutrippas (both dominion and standalone kits):

Standalone kit + greenstuff + ghoul heads = marauders

Either kit + blightlords bitz + greenstuff + alternative hobby supplies = Rustpox brotherhood aka my warrior equivalent.

As above + plaguebearer bits = toad-chosen aka chosen aka possesed mortals.

Boss on hound Is going to be turned into a chaos Lord on croc

Boss on foot will be a hero conversion. Extras will be cycled into warrior or chosen conversions.

BSB guy will be an extra body for chosen.

Shaman 1 will be a chaos sorcerer Lord conversion. Subsequent models will be converted into various alternatives uses.

No idea on boltboyz. Might try to sell them.

    No idea on hobgrots

@Lord Agragax of Lunaxoatl is correct in his most infinite wisdom: my Marauder is being on 32 mm bases accidentally does not really matter in the grand scheme of things because anyone who's annoyed at such a small amount shouldn't be gaming anyway

Not just the gutrippas here but also some stuff from the dominion set.

I will be updating as I go.

Pre-greenstuff on the first of the gutrippas from dominion.

Hacked off the spear hand and replaced it with an extra hand weapon bit from the multi-part kit.

Also put a spacer made with some sprue so that I don't have to use so much green stuff to build up the neck/hood.

I'm amazed what I've been able to do without incorporating any Nurgle bits (upcoming, I've got some trades headed my way) in turning these kruleboyz into a gluttonous warband of pox-kin Marauders.

The tentacle arm is my first attempt at basic armature.

*Yes the leg on the yellow one is touched up now*

When the children of Nurgle known as Rot-bloods first recieve the pox-gift of the three eyed toad from Lord Phlegmatticus, or any of his blight-bound warlords, their bodies undergo significant change.

Over time, their skin twists and extends, and they become wiry, strong monsters of rabid appearance and unwashed jowls.

The pox pustules that form on their skin harden it's outer layer with the excretions as they grow, burst and reform.

As the pox-blood gift transforms and corrupts the man's soul and body, his skin may change in coloration from normal tones to grey-green.

Thanks, all this impressive conversion work is really making me want to get some Kruleboyz to greenstuff into Fimir for use with an army list for them I've got in the pipeline, and the last thing I need right now is another project...
