That is some great work, I like the effort you put into that big ol' wooly mammoth! The little pink trees on his back are nice little details on top of his exquisite green armor!
Thank you! I really took my time with that one for sure, crafting all the fur, etc. Came out a lot better than I thought it would. I love the trees lol Thanks again!
Started my Zenith Mage today, here is the l progress so far! Turning my Zenith Mage into a Lunar mage, I'm going for a cool Blue-Moon color scheme, so far it's going well. Slowly blending colors and building up a rich color Fully ascended, my mage has sprout wings to help her get to the highest reaches of Hysh, and as close to Celennar as possible.
Ha, it definitely looks like it, doesn't it? Lol But no, its just the peg that the head clips onto, these are push together kits
Thank you! Definitely what I'm going for. Gonna add a little bit of light purple (Lilac probably) to certain areas, but limited. I really like what I have here, even though it's slightly monotone. I however think the relatively same colors all over are different enough on shade, etc that its starting to look really good and as you said a clear midnight, full moon vibe. On a seperate note, almost finished with the High Warden
Speaking of the High Warden... She is finished! Slightly altered scheme from my regular Warden, i made her a bit more bright and the more obvious difference of the Lunarmetal vs Sunmetal blades. Really love the banners personally I may go back and redo the gems as they dont look nearly as good as the regular wardens gems. Time to work on the mage a bit now! C&C welcome
Very very nice, I am a fan of the black armor plating. They look good together, but the High Warden is definitely distinguishable Grrr, Imrahil
Thank you, I'm really happy with them both, though yes it definitely stands out; which is good! I actually in some ways prefer the Lunarmetal than the Sunmetal, but gonna keep it consistent throughout the unit, also makes the High Warden a bit more unique. I haven't seen many schemes that use black, which im kinda surprised by... it looks awesome. I'm excited to do a few units of these. Once I get q few more projects done Im gonna focus on doing the whole unit up. Really trying to have a full army painted by the end of the year, maybe by Mid/end of Sunmer. The wind temple is going to be amazing
I love your painting Suds, but the guy with the spear seems very impractical to me... but that's more a gaming mechanic. Nothing wrong with your paint job on him.
Thank you! They're really fun models to paint, though I miss the more free-style that the Seraphon offer (scales vs armor with lots of edges). Lol yeah, the spears are ridiculously long but makes sense for the 3" reach they have. Pretty sure they are also based off the Macedonian Sarissa if I had to guess!
That is one point for me that seems to be a little bit overdone with these models. Looks like they might snap easy. Does it serve some special rule in game? Grrr, Imrahil
I have heard of them snapping easy, also the banners. Im kinda scared to play with them tbh lol hoping to make a more heavy cav/spirit army if I can with limited wardens and then a more Vanari heavy army also. Lota of ppl replace them with metal rods i guess, I hope to just not break them... id be kinda heart broken lol i just love the birch
Going to end here tonight on my Lunar mage. got a decent amount done, unsure of the rocks atm, originally going for a glow im debating if i should just have them more natural or not. Loving the Barn Owl though! I also have tried to freehand a cloudy moon on the back cloak, think it looks decent. Overall I'm pretty happy thus far. Oh and... PSA: When shaking Contrast paints... make sure the lid ia secure lol lost more than half my Apothecary White tonight
Lumadek Lunarheart, Insular Guardian of the Moonlit Isle "Where he walks moon light is left as footprints, his blessings of wings from Celennar spread wide in Lunar beauty. Upon lunar stones, ancient tears of Celennar, Lumadek Lunarheart communes with the moon high above his mountain perch. With moon bright eyes he sees what other Aelves can only hope to see in a life time." I am officially finished with my Myari model from DireChasm, what a fun model! I decided, as the blurb suggests, went with a Lunar theme instead of a tradtional Solar theme. Being from Ilithia (homebrew) felt it more appropriate, and the fact he had an owl. This may or may not also be a test scheme for how Celennar may look, with a few tweaks.... C&C welcome! Colors used:
Great work on the lunar colors. I am not a big fan of the pink, but the blueish white is very nice. I love the Stones and the tree on the base. I see a freehand on the back some sort of wave or is it the moon? The face seems a little blent to me, might benefit from an (extra) wash. The owl looks very well like a barn owl, but it might be to contrasting to the rest of the model. Grrr, Imrahil
