They used to be much better when they had movement 6. Still, they're solid.

That' said, I'd argue that the Ironblaster and the Skullcannon are both better overall for their points.

Yes, TOTALLY. Or a Hellcannon.

 

The Fireborn manage to bring the Demigryphs down to 7.4 wounds remaining, and avoid a Massive Loss by the narrowest of margins (7.5 wounds was the cut-off). Of course, if the Demigryphs had their standard bearer (which was removed to try to better balance their points), they would have easily have achieved a Massive Victory. Either way, not a good result for the Fireborn, but a totally expected one.

What's the ward save on the Fireborn @NIGHTBRINGER ?

 

4++ (2++ against Flaming Attacks)

 

Wow, even better than the ward save granted to models with the Daemonic special rule. Pretty hard core.

Explains why they can still take a lot of punishment and stick around even though Toughness 4.

 

They kind of need it since they only have 2 wounds, which is really low for a monstrous unit of any kind and especially for one that costs 55 points/model.

 

Almost a Massive Victory but not quite. Only one match left from our pool of original competitors!

 

And now it is time for brother versus brother... K'daai Destroyer versus K'daai Fireborn. 2+ ward save against 2+ ward save... let the pillow fight begin!

Tough contest but the Bull Centaur's S6 (and their Standard Bearer) saw them to victory. The other Bull Centaur loadouts (sword &board and AHW) will not be so fortunate.
