I had an idea for a summoning focused list. I'm a newbie to seraphon so I've probably missed something in the rules that makes this unplayable but maybe not? Constellation: Dracothion's Tail Grand Strategy: Prized Sorcery Leaders: Slann Starmaster (265)* -General -Command ability: Ancient Knowledge -Artefact: Godbeast Pendant -Spell: Stellar Tempest -Ancient Knowledge Spell: Celestial Apotheosis Slann Starmaster (265)* -Artefact: Arcane Tome -Spell: Stellar Tempest Slann Starmaster (265)* -Spell: Walk Between Realms Slann Starmaster (265)** -Spell: Mystical Unforging Slann Starmaster (265)** -Spell: Celestial Equilibrium Slann Starmaster (265)** -Spell: Drain Magic Units: Saurus Guard (115)* Saurus Guard (115)** Saurus Guard (115)** Endless Spells and Invocations: Chronomantic Cogs (45) Core Battalions: Warlord* Battle Regiment** Triumphs: Inspired Additional Enhancements: Artefact Faction Terrain: Realmshaper Engine (72 wounds 1980/2000 points 5 drops) So basically you want to keep your Slanns pumping out an insane amount of conjuration points. You can garrison the realmshaper with guard and Slann. You can then roll 25-26 D3 each of your hero phases using chronomantic cogs + celestial conjuration instead of casting spells. One slann can be teleported away then used to summon 5-6 salamander units every one of your turns. You can drop a unit of guard down with him too using Dracothion's Tail ability. Anyway I'm pretty new to the game so probably made some mistakes. Let me know what you think.
Ah damn, that's a bit underwhelming then. I figured we could get more points than that. On the summoning table there's stuff valued at 30 conjuration points. Even with Kroak+Slann+Astrolith+Oracle still only 5d3 per turn. That's about 1 salamander if you're lucky.
Well, summoning a salamander per turn is still very powerful. If a summoning focused list is something you want to play, it can be effective and I'd recommend giving it a shot. Something like: 2x slann or Kroak + Slann general Trog Astrolith Guard 2 x 2 salamanders Some 10x skink units
Summoning is a compliment and a useful toolbox for the army. Unfortunately we aren't really set up to be able to pour our entire strategy into it, altho like @Tyranitar said it can be fun and worth the try.
