Lucky! Some of the old metal blisters! Those were good days! I’ve certainly put some Warhammer stuff on my Christmas list (some Night Goblin stuff, Necron stuff and stuff to begin collecting Craftworld Eldar and Beastmen) so I look forward to seeing what my family rustle up I’ll post a pic of anything I get up here
Yes indeed - I thought they’d make a fun 6th army and 3rd evil army to round out my Fantasy collection. Tomb Kings and Bretonnia were also on my mind, but the former is very hard to buy affordable and cool-looking proxy models for beyond the few units available from Mantic, and I already have 3 Order armies to 2 Destruction armies, so a 4th Order army would make it even more unbalanced if all my armies were to have a bash together. I’m still keeping my copy of the 8th Edition Tomb Kings Book because it’s a cracking read, and am contemplating picking up the Bretonnian one as well as soon as I can find one for an affordable price and in good nick, but that’s the furthest I’ll be working on them. Admittedly I won’t be working much on Beastmen for a while because I’ve got loads of other projects still ongoing, but as soon as I can find the army book somewhere (as I like to have a concrete paper copy in my hand when playing), the mustering of the warherd will begin. I’ve been monitoring some Beastmen blogs on EEFL as inspiration for painting and have already been thinking of some cool fluff revolving around the inclusion of some of the Tzaangor models as a small Tzeentchian conclave that is manipulating the largely Khorne-worshipping herd to do the Raven God’s dirty work...

Christmas is here, and I am as good as my word! I’ve just opened my stocking presents and there are a couple of hobby gems in there. No Beastmen as of yet, but I did get some of the new plastic Squig Hoppers: And an interesting fantasy card game called Berserk: It’s described as a ‘wargame with cards’ so I’m looking forward to giving that a go. I also got the CD of the soundtrack for Revenge of the Sith, which will be something new to listen to while painting my models. And the party’s only just started - I’m going to be over at my grandmother’s for much of today where we’re all going to give presents, play games and have lots of fun, so if I’m lucky to receive anymore hobby stuff I’ll be sure to post it here. No more Warhammer related stuff anymore but i did get some dino stuff (which in a way is Lizzie stuff right). The ticket i'm holding is a entree ticket to a dino expo. Everything i'm holding or wearing is a gift from me GF. Merry xmas everyone
I haven't unpacked these yet, but they're more Skele warriors for my Tomb Kings army. Three Forge World Daemon Plague Toads for use as Beasts of Nurgle proxies. More Skeles And two Ushabti to complete my full Deathstar complement of 18. Good haul this year! I also bought myself some more magnets for bases, a cheapo case and foams, a bargain Bragg the Gutsman model and some more Ogres for my other army.
Another little something for the hobby I got today, a hard copy of In Her Majesty’s Name: Which means I can read the full rules now rather than having to use a combination of a summary rulesheet and guesswork to learn how to play it
This year's Christmas haul: The last one was an Ebay purchase (to me, from me). It's quite damaged (which I knew when I bought it), we'll see what I can salvage... but it was cheap. The rest are from Mrs. NIGHTBRINGER, with the exception of the Sphinxes which were from my sister in law.
I got a copy of Battletome: Orruk Warclans under the tree. I will probably end up starting the army from scratch as most of what I have is still on square bases, although I could grab some 25mm-32mm converters. I also got 3 Oathmark boxes, Human, Dwarf, and Dwarf Heavy Infantry. I also got some money and gift cards to buy more stuff. All in all, a good day.
Yup. Maybe I'll wait till the New Year to open them up and count them as my first painted "models" of 2021!
