Have people here played with a 12 man Terradon unit before? It seems a fun and interesting unit to play with. I wonder if anyone has ant tips or tricks
I have used a 12man Terradon Shadowstrike before. It is a lot of shooting damage and mortal wounds. They still aren't as efficient as Ripperdactyls. Terradons are rather versatile though. You likely will not be able to get all 12 models into combat unless you are fighting a large horde unit however.
Yeah I was wondering if you just put them on the table what you could with them. They probably get shot off or magic'd off the table before the get to do things but it still seems interesting. Rippers and Terradons are so incredibly fast.14 inch movement is amazing but they are hamstrung by the stupid bloat toads. I expect the toads to go away in the new book and maybe it will open up new ways of running Rippers/Terradons.
I think the way AoS is going the Toads are going to go bye byes, at least in the way we use them now. But you have some great objective markers
Why would they? They are part of rippers sprue. They will have to redesign the whole kit to get rid of toad. I see nothing particulary wierd in toad mechanics.
In my opinion the current rules are a little silly. To me it seems like the type of old rule that GW has been cleaning up/making more streamlined. The blot toad might not disappear but I think they will change how it works. I could be wrong but I they are going to clean up a lot of things in the new book, we have outdated rules, and my guess is this is one of them.
Do i have to got rippers in my army list to put toads on table ? Also does curse of fates is modificator? Im thinking of using it on terrorgheist to no have 6s on jaws
yes toads are a extention of rippers curse of fates is a modifier so it would stop 6+ rolls but not natural 6s sorry terrorgheists are still a pile of dumb and broken
Only the Ripperdactyl get the Bloat Toads. CURSE OF FATES: Curse of Fates has a casting value of 4. If successfully cast, pick a unit within 20". Once per phase until your next hero phase, you can increase or decrease the result of a single dice roll for that unit by one Edit: what @Erta Wanderer said
Yes, unless you have an Engine of the Gods and roll 14-17 on your first hero phase and choose to summon Rippers. Then you can put down a blot toad during that same hero phase.
