    Looking for feedback on a 1k dual steggo list

    Yes- I have no Magic.

    In 1k games, I figured you are typically only going to really see level 2 mages. Maybe level 3. But most people won't spring for a level 4 lord. As such there will be less spells in play and a lower chance of success. So I have more faith in leaving it to my one dispel attempt.

    But this is also why I took some of the items I did. Talisman and Meteoric on the Chief for the 5+ unmodifiable /5+ ward on a stegadon. Also my BSB

    Then I am running a cowboy! I was originally thinking giant blade and Enchanted Shield, but figured he'd be exposed too easily to magic missiles, so opted for the spell shield and dropped down to a Biting Blade. Obligatory Horned One to avoid stupid.

    General idea of the list is that people won't be ready to face down 2 behemoths at 1k. That's essentially it.

    Can you find room for the Skink to hold something in his other hand, like an additional hand weapon? 3 points for an extra attack (as a shield does nothing) is a good deal.

    I don't rate the spellshield, partcularly in 1000 point games. Also you have a shield and a spellshield on him. Definitely dont need that, can lose it for an extra attack for your skink chielf (or a javelin to throw?)

    The double shield is a mistake. That's should give me the 3 points. Thanks for catching that.

    I normally don't normally rate the spell shield either, but felt the magical ward was more important than the non-magical one in this case, as lone character will never protect him in this case, so he is just super vulnerable to magic missiles.

    Edited the list to fix the double shield and got the extra hand weapons

    Looks pretty good. I do think you probably want an Ancient Steg for S6 on Stomps and Impacts, that is a pretty big difference.

    I am not 100% yet if you can take 2 Stegs in 1K. The mount section does lead you to the actual Steg rules, which makes me think perhaps you can only 1 have per 1K points.

    Biting Blade is prolly not worth it, Obsidian Blades is pretty nice, unless you think you need the Magical Attacks.

    I personally dislike Muscians in this edition, you can probably go without.

    It just leads you there for reference. It's actual entry is under Character Mounts.

    You are not taking a stegadon. You are taking a skink Chief and then mounting him on a stego. That is not the same unit as a "stegadon" and it's definitely not a rare choice, which is where the limit is

    You dislike musicians? Winning in a tie is a big deal I think. It's close to a banner.

    I would say it kinda is not. How many fights are an exact tie? It only comes into effect like 10-20% of the fights, while a banner gives you that +1 100% of the time.

    Maybe so. But I feel 2-3 musicians in an army (in this case only 1) is worth the equivalent points in skinks just for that 20%.

    Banner always yes. Musician unless I just can't fit it in my list.

    Have you had a chance to run your list yet? How was no magic at 1k? How were the double stegs? How as the new age cowboy? Any insights would be appreciated!
