I've found the need to paint much faster in order to get units to the board, especially with summoning. I've got 20 of these skinks, very simply primed in white then washed 3 times and a bit of detail added.
I may really upset some of you with this picture...I posted this in another group (never again) and it was criticized quite badly. I completely see why. Some people take this hobby far more seriously than I do. I enjoy playing and painting and can accept that these are not great. The point is I needed cheap razordons in my army and I made these about as cheap as I could! 10 Chaos warhounds for around 15 pound, then a tiny bit of green stuff to make spikes. I also rushed the paint job to get these playing. On the table they don't look as bad as in the pic- the fur is less noticeable from the top!
Finally these bad boys, our favourite fast strike force! In the game these have been utterly phenomenal, though they do die rather quickly.
Ooo I like the rippers! And never feel bad for converting - always give it a try, who cares what people think, if you are happy with what you made that’s all that really matter that being said they could be a bit more lizard like ;D ‘joke’
Love the two schemes on the Rippers - definitely fits their lethal style! As for the conversions, they look fine to me and besides, the only person who’s opinion on them matters is you. If you think that they’re good enough, then they are most certainly good enough! By the way, are you planning on doing anything with those plain bushes, or are they just there as terrain/objectives?
Awesome stuff all around, keep up the good work! Don't worry about the conversion, it looks quite good in my opinion and fills its role as a cheaper alternative to fill in for an overpriced model. All I would say is don't worry about what anyone else thinks
WIP of my custom starseer palanquin..kit bashed from random bits! Starpriest standing in for starseer
In my head canon, aspiring skink seers have to construct their own palanquin (being natural crafters) in order to become enlightened and attain the position of a seer. My coalesced starpriest Xan-Da has just constructed his from ruined or long forgotten parts. He has taken a tentative first flight using the blue orb traded from the Sylvaneth (allied to my army). On a painting note, I had a lot of fun making this from old bits! And I'm too poor to buy a starseer. The blue orb was supposed to be glowing but I really struggled with this effect. That's the only bit I'm not happy with. It looks good on the table though!
Nice piece of kitbashing. I like the lore as well. Can you take some pictures from other angles? Like to see how you did the palaquin Grrr, Imrahil
Will do, it's pretty much bastilodon spares. The orb is one of the bombs that a terranadon drops, the name escapes me.
WIP of my kroxigor. Really enjoying these chaps, decided to swap in a head from a knight and upgrade headwear. A very large moon hammer is incoming...
Nearly there with these, just need to add some tufts, grass and skulls to match the rest of my army. Found these quite fun to paint despite being old models. Think I might get another 3! I decided the moonhammer was a bit puny. Being coalesced, this replacement was taken from a felled dankhold troggboss. The starpriest then imbued it with the power to smite multiple enemies at once!
