    Hiya everyone,
Thought i start up a blog of me grinding through my all skink 2500pnt list in between grinding through my millions of gsc cultis. So you might happen to see other systems and even some of the wife's wood elves in here when she feels like showing them off,i hope that is ok with the mods.

Either way here is my working list for the lizards*
    *tetto'eko
    *2x skink priest
*skink priest with cloak of feathers
    *20x temple guard
    *40x skink skimshers
    *old blood on a carnasuar
    *ancient steggy
    *bastiladon
    *120× skink cohort
    *3x ripperdaytles
    * bloat toad

For the skin of my skinks i based them off the ghost gecko so i primed them with a heavy gloss white spray then washed them so the wash doesnt grip the scales very well and settles deep in the cracks
    Screenshot_20200116-184554_Gallery.jpg

Started working on a skink priest just to break off from all the cultist i been doing

May i say i didnt realize how much i hate painting feathers and seem to never be pleased with them.

Either way thanks for checking it out

That is an interesting color scheme. I like it. The feathers look good IMO. The great thing about the painting aspects of this hobby is that you can always fix things like feathers when you learn new techniques or develop greater skill. Keep pressing forward and keep the photo updates coming! :)

Thanks been in the hobby for the better part of a decade and half, my skinks are split up and randomized colors for units to show skink scale color depending of the regional spawning before comong to the great skink muster of tetto'eko

I washed them all maybe about 4 years ago then just stopped painting them as the local gaming store closed up before a new opened up a few years ago

Hmm... you're giving me ideas for my own mismatched skink models.... I know what you mean about stopping. I got into 8th edition with three friends and went a little nuts collecting models. After attempting to paint High Elves, Lizardmen were so fast and fun to paint. Then our gaming group kind of disintegrated and I moved. My models sat in boxes for at least 4.5 years. I've only just cracked them open since my kids want to play some Age of Sigmar Skirmish games. The Seraphon rise again!

    UPDATE!....WELL tiny UPDATE

Knocked out a quick hour of work on the skink priest this morning before having to head back to the kitchen
    20200119_125007.jpg 20200119_125020.jpg 20200119_125034.jpg 20200119_125059.jpg 20200119_125117.jpg

Mostly done with the preist just need to finish the base and do all the gems, i am thinking of doing the gems in a bright silver then try out that gemstone technical pain gw has, after clear coating the model then bruching the gems with a high gloss clear coat

    CURRENTLY ON THE PAINT ALTER

A block of 36 skink cohorts with full command. Used the fancy temple guard sheilds as to help mark out the skink brave. A custom musician and standard bearer for each unit as there were none make for the skink musician and standard bearer

Nice mod work on the command models. That brave's shield looks pretty slick too. Can't wait to see them painted.

    Wow, nicely done!!

I like vibrant colors of the Skinks vs the earthy Stegadon. Makes them really pop on their howdah :)

I love the fact that you magnetized the Skinks  (I am a big pro-magnet Guy;) )

Did you ise double magnets? Or magnet and metal bits?
I like to do mine magnetic as well, but have not figured out how:rolleyes:

    Grrr, Imrahil

I just glued them on. I wanted to magnitize them and use them as wound counters but the onky way i could think to make it would be put the magnets in the howdah and cut slivers of sheet metal under the tiny skink feet but thats too much of a hassle so meh
