Re: Farsights army painting Not too bad, Great job on the eyes, but like another poster said... They would look lot better witth a simple wash. (it would only take a minute or two)
Re: Farsights army painting just me , though i would reccomend giveing your skinks a second coat of iceblue(or whatever colour you used) it would just stop it from showing where some parts the paint has been over painted or not covered properly anyway just a sugestion,
Re: Farsights army painting I know i could but i like that the hawk turquoise shows from there it gives them a not so blue look. And i lik washes, because they are good to reecesses but if you spill it its almost whole paint gone
Re: Farsights army painting where do i buy devlan mud and asurmen blue.... i live in denmark and im actually just realy startet, so i dont know that much about it...
Re: Farsights army painting Either try to get in delivered by GW or another much cheaper outlet (eg wayland games) or wander down to your nearest GW supplier and have a look. If needs be find you rnearest shop and some of the guys here who use Vallajo (sp?!) paints will know the closest ones to GW issued ones. And welcome to the wonderful (and expensive) world of Warhammer! Lloyd
Re: Farsights army painting Finally the update you all were (hopfully) waiting for! My skink skirmishers! 10 skinks(I know its just 10 but i have been busy) Here they are. And like always feedback is welcome! Ps. I'm buying my steggie soon and i will paint it when i get it. Before that you can decide what i'm painting. Remember to say that in your post! And if you want more pics of my saurus, scar vet, priest, or anything just PM me!
Re: Farsights army painting Farsight I reckon you should get some more saurus done. I'm abig beleiver of getting a solid core built before starting on something cool. Not only does it it motivate me (I have a steggie in my sights) but stops be from doing my bad habit of buying £100's of models and then stop using them half way thorugh painting (40k mainly). So my vote is Saurus (at least 2 units) and some more skinks! Lloyd
Re: Farsights army painting Okay, I will paint the rest 12 saurus next(All i have). I'm going to get more saurus after steggie.
Re: Farsights army painting hey guys i guess ime a prime culprit of buying all the cool stuff 1st, trust me i had a slann carnie, steggie and terradons when i still only had 1 unit of suarus and skinks...luckily the cool ones werent painted amazingly so it does mean i can go back to repainting them, but for now ime working on my battalion, when thats done, ill get back to doing them keep posting and updating... i agree with loyd it may seem hard but its easier to know that ytou have a fun thing waiting for you at the end
Re: Farsights army painting some pics of scar vet could be nice. and try give the gold places some devlan mud, its gonna look a lot more cool then.
Re: Farsights army painting Well I guess it could use a highlight drybrush on the skin and the metal could use a wash. But I say that to most new painters. You did well enough to play with, and did a prety clean paint job.
Re: Farsights army painting looking good. And yea, try some devlanmud wash on the gold and bone color parts.
Re: Farsights army painting I'm going to base my models soon. Any ideas how to make the base look like its in jungle?
Re: Farsights army painting It may take some photoshop skills, but if you google some jungle leave pic that you like, you can make a template to use when cutting leaves out of plasticard, then its a simple matter of adding texture to it with a hobby knife. That or find some properly sized toy jungle trees to get the leaves from.
