Here is the first hero for my new army. I hope you'll like it, soon I'll post more pictures of my WIP skinks.
Re: First Lizard I'm guessing this isn't your very first painted miniature, Because that is a very nice paint job.
Re: First Lizard No it's not! I usually paint warmachine/hordes miniatures. But it's my first lizard!
Re: First Lizard Wow, that Skink Priest looks very very nice! O__O Very solid paint job and nice colors. Those golden feathers look awesome. Can't wait what else you'll create
Re: First Lizard Beautifully done! That model is stunning and I'm sure will stand out on the battlefield.
Re: First Lizard I'm not a fan of blue lizardmen but with the work you've done here on the gold, it really makes it look good and much better than the GW stock standard blue lizardmen.
Re: First Lizard That looks amazing! It is so much better than mine I cannot get the details on the feathers right. Its all smudged on my model. I kinda screwed up the staff too I think painting the whole thing in gold is a bit boring. I love you used a purple-blue on the staff it compliments the gold really well. The red/blue gemstones are very nice too! Stunning level of finish! It would be perfect if you have photos of the entire model within focus, the shallow depth of field has really hide a lot of your amazing paint job!
Re: First Lizard I like very much how you paint the green feathers! They are great! For the gold: I don't use the gold ^^ I start with a base of "Brass" Vallejo Model Color, than 1 or 2 coats of GW "grax earthshade", and than again Vallejo Brass for the lights. Only at last I put some gold paint. It makes all less "flat".
Re: First Lizard that skink priest has a really egyptian vibe!! it looks insane, i love the rich blue, colour choices and execution are both spot on will we be seeing a second lizard??
going on with painting. Here are some skinks and Gor Rok... skin color is always the same, I must hurry ^^
Ooh, lovely! The blue is very striking and quite a rare case when you are not instantly reminded of the GW scheme. Would you mind sharing your recipe for the blue?
1) Base: 50% Vallejo MC - Intense Blue (052) 50% Vallejo MC - Yellow Green (078) 2) Wash: 50% GW - Drakenhof Nightshade 50% GW - Biel Tan Green 3) Again, Base color (only where needed) 4) Highlights: Base + white (80%-20%, then 60%-40%) ^^
I too enjoy that blue over the GW theme. Nicely done man. Gotta get my hands on a Gor-Rok model, such a nice piece,
