Excellent! Thats what Im going for since I am gonna run them as a Sunclaw Starhost. I need to get myself a Sunblood at some point.
Man I wish I had fun painting Saurus Warriors since I would like to try out a Sunclaw one day. But the bare minimum is... dunno... 60 Warriors? I have 24... *sigh* Maybe someone sells an army that fits my style one day..
Haha this is 58 Saurus, and for Sunclaw, I could easily use another 20. I can proxy 2 temple guard and have enough for the bare minimum. But even then, maybe a cushion for the 40+ buff would be nice. Or upgrading the other units from tax units.. I didn't intentionally go out to collect this many warriors but a few getting started boxes later and I have the makings of a small horde.
Looking great so far, it's a small pleasure of mine seeing an army being born from the very first steps to its completion. Keep up the great work!
Rebiving the thread. After a long hiatus I'm getting back into painting my Saurus. This block is shaping up, just need to find out how I'll be basing them
First skink of the army painted. Went with a pretty bright scheme. Just toyed around with some colours for the ripper rider, I'm keeping it vibrant.
Beautiful paint scheme wiht a nice gradient, I like it. EDIT: I'd maybe add some more shade to the shield....not sure.
First Ripper and rider (mostly) complete. I do want to add some light blue drybrushing to the shield, and maybe parts of the blue spots on the wings so there is a gradient to light blue the same way the red spots go into orange.
Hah, I'm a pretty slow painter and I always take forever to decide schemes. Painted so far, I have: Carno (rider unpainted), EOTG, 16 Knights (unfinished riders), 30/48 warriors, and a few Skink chiefs and priests. I suppose add 1 ripper to that list now. Still up I have 12 Temple Guard, 20+ skinks, and a Slann. Slann is probably up next, I have a bit of troop burnout from painting warriors.
I think my latest goal is to paint at least 1 of everything which is unpainted, so I at least have all my schemes figured out. Anyway, here's some skinks I've been inspired to work on after finishing my first ripper.
Finally finished the Carno, just got to finish up the Scar Vet a and touch up the mouth a little bit.
Knocked out my remaining rippers in about a day. Pretty happy with how they all turned out. Have a few more details on them to finish still. Took a few shots of my whole army since I had it all out on the table. I'm getting there!
