Hello boys and girls and welcome to Let's Get Motivated - New Year's hobby resolution 2024 I have been some of you putting out your hobby resolution for 2024. This thread is too get us motivated this year into finishing the projects that we have committed to in our resolution, the rules are fairly simple. At the start of the year post what your hobby resolution, it can be models/terrain/conversions of any game type. No pressure if you don't finish anything this is for motivation nothing else. Around the middle of the year post your progress, no images please, if you have want to share your progress with images, upload them into your blog and supply a link. Around the end of the year post your progress, again no images, if you have finished a piece upload the images into your blog and supply a link. The reason I don't want images in this thread is too get everyone that takes part views in their personal blog where the community can critique, etc. You don't have a paint blog? well get one started in this forum section. If you need advice etc. post here and the community will try and answer. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone share their progress Grrr, !mrahil
Hobby Goals - Paint one mini per month - Meet at least once a month for a tabletop game. - Write a pieces of fluff. Forum Goals - Visit this amazing forum at least once a week (always great vibes) - Post at least once a month (so 112+ post at the end of the year)
Lets be as vague as possible Paint 750 points of something (or 100 points if hundred point system) Paint 1000 points of something (or 125 points if hundred point system) Paint 1500 points of something (or 175 points if hundred point system) (It has to be different things, I can't for example paint 2500 points of one army to scratch two goals) Base my lizardmen Play in total 5 times this year. Doesn't matter what. Don't buy more armies, only expand existing ones.
2024 challenge will be: - paint my 2025 Army (Dogs of War) - play only with my Chaos Dwarfs (quite difficult to match the 24 victories in 24 games played with Lizardmen in 2023) I actually played and lost the first game of the year, will be having a rematch tomorrow!
My new years resolutions for this year will be: - Participate in every short-story contest this year - Participate in every Feathered Serpent contest this year - Complete at least four units of Seraphon - Paint all the plants on my completed Seraphon models - Complete at least three pieces of scenery - Have at least 6 game nights with my brother All extra's are a nice given Grrr, !mrahil
I decided, that Im takiego things a little different for the time being. Until further notice I'll just be quietly working on some stuff and writing abput my progress whenever I can. As for what I would want to paint, Im amiming to paint some warcry warbands and do as much of my army as possible.
Ok, it took me over a month to decide, but here is what I am shooting for my sample of projects this year: Last year was the Year of Infinity so far as my paint desk was concerned, and I am still loving it! Asides from finishing off my Haqqislam force, I have concurrently been working on some Druze mercenaries to add to a secondary force. I also want to complete the small batch of Aleph minis I have yet to finish, and branch out into finishing some x-men inspired Nomads! Outside of the Infinity-sphere, I have a few more projects in mind. Three from GW: adding a unit or two to my Deathwatch, some more work for Necromunda, and dipping my toe back into painting some Lizards this year. I also want to finish two more minis I have lying around for the Drowned Earth, and am SUPER excited for a new project that has been brewing in my mind since I found out about it around December... Turnip28! Edit: this year my resolutions chart is made up of almost all my own painted minis too! Everything except the Turnip28 mini, which was made over at the Garden of Hecate.
First update for this year: 13 points of FOW stuff done, about 80 more points almost done. (100 point system) No Bolt Action stuff done 130 points of Seraphon done 140 points of Death Guard done Roughly 550 points of Isengard done (not counting double Saruman, because that would be another 200 points) and about 300 more being painted. Base my lizardmen - not done Play in total 5 times this year. Doesn't matter what. - not done Don't buy more armies, only expand existing ones. - we can scratch that, Isengard started this year.
