    Hello everyone

Newer member but I have been collecting since the Lizardmen Bretonnia box set, way back in the day. I have been toying around with my lizardmen lore and finally got around to writing it down. I am not a writer so please excuse any glaring mistakes. Suggestions and criticism welcome.

I also have a World Anvil page with a map of Lustria. I am trying to include member creations, Kahoun and story locations of importance. You should be able to click on all of the temple cities to get more info or any map that I could find for the city. I have some info copy pasted under the locations with links to L-O members stories and army fluff pages. There are a ton of stories I simply do not have the time to read. If you would like me to add links to the appropriate stories or fluff please send me links to anything I am missing.

    The Founding

Nestled in the valley adjacent to the Tower of Lightning rests a city blessed by Xoloc, Mundoatl. Once a city of that rivaled the Big Four, now a quiet place, working to restore itself its former glory. Established immediately after Itza, It had the honor of being the second temple city constructed on this new world. Mundoatl was ruled over by 3 Slann of the first generation. Their names, lost to time, are only remembered as Master of Portals, Master of the North, and Master of the South.

Once the construction was completed and filled to the brim with new spawning's, The Master of Portals, North, and South began construction of a great project. They labored for thousands of years, manufacturing and transporting components for The Old Ones great Cosmic Polar Gates. Eventually the Second Generation Slann were spawned. Most were charged with the adjustment of the worlds orbit, however, with such important work to be done, The Old Ones sent a a number of Second Generation to assist in cosmic gate production.

The Second Generation Slann were instructed to start construction on the Tower of Lightning on a nearby Geomantic Web nexus. A golden megalith reaching into the heavens and deep into the earth. The Tower of Lightning pulled magical energy from the Geomantic Web and the Sky. Upon finishing their task they connected the Tower of Lightning along the hidden ley lines to Mundoatl via solid gold rods stretching through the mountains. Using the Tower of Lightning as a source of power the Master of Portals no longer needed as many helpers and allowed most of the Second Generation to be reassigned. These Slann moved throughout Lustria building temple cities and additional places of power. The Slann that stayed were able to start making smaller gates that were seeded throughout the Warhammer World. All temple cities and Kahoun were now connected by gates that could "dial" any other inactive gate.

While all the resident Slann were busy with manufacturing cosmic and earth gates, the running of the city fell to the High Skinks. The High Skinks were hard pressed to keep the city running efficiently. Even the most intelligent and respected High Skink didn't have the ability to oversee everything. This changed when Mundoatl was linked with the rest of Lustria. Over night, Slann of the Third and Fourth Generation were able to emigrate from their native temples. Now with a proper ruling structure in place the High Skinks could focus on the day to day tasks and let the Slann dictate the course of the cities future.

Earthquakes shook the planet as the Fourth Generation Slann made final adjustments to the continents, creating the World Pond. Suddenly the earth gates activated, armies of immense size flooded over the land. The Extermination Wars had begun. Dragons died by the thousands, Fimir by the millions, and the Orcs and Goblins by the hundreds of millions, yet the wars raged. Eventually land was cleared from the Anathema races and the Elves and Dwarves were allowed to populate the empty spaces. The Fifth Generation Slann began to teach the Elves and Dwarves civilization, and the beginnings of the plans of The Old Ones. Humans were slow to civilize. The only humans that were ready to accept the ways of the Old Ones resided on Albion. The rest were too preoccupied with battling between themselves and the Orc and Goblin tribes to be properly instructed.

    The Great Catastrophe

Sensing strange fluctuations near the north and south Cosmic Polar Gates the Master of Portals sent the others to their respective portals in an attempt to stabilize the odd magical currents. They had no time to determine the source of the problem. An explosion with the force of a supernova erupted from the Polar Gates instantly disintegrated everything within thousands of miles. The sudden magical backlash activated all the earth gates on the planet. The Master of Portals had just enough time to put up a protective barrier around the Slann favela before being evaporated in the maelstrom. The directional blast incinerated everything and melted nearly all of Mundoatl. Demons flooded the area, so complete was the destruction they didn't even consider scouring the area for survivors. Flowing everywhere else with the uncontrolled winds of magic, the demons started their assault on the world.

When the area was finally clear and the molten rock cooled, only a few slann that were resting in the area emerged. The most senior Slann, Xapotia, sent the remaining skink priests with the temple guard to search the remains of their beloved city. The search only took hours, the only structures still standing where the favela, the now inactive and fused earth gate, and a small portion of the sacred manufacturing facilities. In desperation Xapota reached out into the roiling winds of magic to contact somebody, anybody. There was no response from anyone, even telepathic communication between slann within the valley was difficult. Offering a prayer to Xoloc, the Old One of precision, Xapotia began taking stock of what survived. The skink and kroxigor labor forces quickly cleared rubble from the sacred gate workshops. Delighted at finding much of the workshops still operational, along with the plaques with the inscriptions to operate them, Xapotia sealed the entrance in case of any attack. The workshops cannot fall into enemy hands. Further excavations found the opening of the saurus spawning chambers with a host of Sauri taller than a temple guard and nearly as muscled as a kroxigor, waiting at the entrance. These saurus, nearly as intelligent as a skink was assigned the command of the remaining High Skink and the cities labor force doubled overnight. With a small army of laborers the search began for the skink spawning pools. Months of chipping away at the solidified rock eventually uncovered the spawning pools. Many were dried out their occupants suffering a horrible but mercifully quick death. In all there were 6 spawning pools that resisted the molten rock flow and once opened to the sky the began to glow brightly. Soon many spawning's of skinks and kroxigor climbed out of the glowing water.

Reconstruction of Mundoatl was very slow. The city was the quarry itself, where large blocks were hewn from the earth and restacked. Some temples were found partially intact but had become unusable. Their blocks were salvaged and used in new temples. Spawning's continued and eventually there was a small war host at Xapotias command. Many outposts were created and manned by potions of the newly formed army. With Mundoatls borders secured and only small skirmishes happening deep into the jungle, Xapotia opened the sacred gate workshops. Studying the sacred plaques of portal construction, it was discovered that portals could continue to be produced. Despair befell the High Skink as the portions of the workshop that were in ruins were for smaller components that allowed the portals to be dialed. The portals now had to be created in pairs and linked before activation. The range between them seemed to be drastically reduced as well, reaching only a few hundred miles before needing to enter a new pair. The trickle of magic from the Tower of Lightning also caused problems, only 1/3 of the workshop had enough power to activate. Xapotia gathered a respectable army and proceeded through the mountains along the Golden Rods of Xoloc.

Many days they marched through the tunnels with no rest, Xapotia had to reestablish the gate network, the Great Plan required it. Reaching the Tower of Lightning the army was ambushed by demons of Tzeentch. The fighting was brutal, saurus warriors falling by the hundreds, slaying demons by the thousands. Slowly being pushed back a great bastillidon holding a newly created earth gate was overwhelmed and slain. The hordes of demons pushed hard, Xapotia's army was nearly pushed back to the tunnels with no hope of securing the sacred gate. Then an idea. Xapotia contacted the other slann back and Mundoatl. Within the hour, the army nearly broken, there was a pulse of power and pure blue light covered the battlefield. With a roar of pure hatred stegadons, bastilidons, carnosaurs, and cold ones lead the charge. Hitting their enemies from the rear flank, an untold number of demons were trampled, gouged, and mauled mercilessly. Xapotia and the remains of the inital army charged into the confused demons. Beset on two sides the demon commander, a greater demon of Tzeentch was tackled by a carnosaur. Trying to squawk words of power distracted it long enough to allow the carnosaur to grab the demon and bite down on its throat. The words of power died as the carnosaur twisted its own head once, removing the demons head and severing the connection to its vile god. Without the greater demon the chaos horde attempted to flee, only to be pursued by the vengeful lizardmen. After the battle the slann at Mundoatl verified the flow of magical energy has been restored to the workshops. The earth gate was secured inside a stone wall near the Tower of Lightning and heavily defended by temple guard and bastilidons. With the fortification at the Tower of Lightning complete, the gate activated and Xapotias army found themselves back in Mundoatl.

Sitting on top of the completed Temple of Gathering Xapotia could now communicate with the closest temple cities. The first attempt at communication was to Xhotl- City of Destiny, was met with an old warning about the magical barriers around the temple cities. Troubled at this revelation Xapotias efforts were redoubled and directed at Itza. Lord Kroak answered. Contact with Lord Kroak was very short. His words, Itza under siege, no help, hide yourselves. With that the telepathic link was severed. Xapotia and the other slann tapped into the cities magical reserves and raised a great barrier of defence and obscurity. There was a great pulse of magical power within the year. All the slann at Mundoatl knew instantly, Lord Kroak was dead. For many years Mundoatl remained hidden. If any demons manifested near the Valley of the Condor, the earth gates were activated and the incursion quickly squashed. One day Xapotia could feel the magical energies flowing out of Lustria to a point in the World Pond. Reaching along the lines of magic Xapotia realized the Elves were not only still alive but enacting a great ritual, many surviving slann were sending as much power their was as possible. It was decided to help. Directing the energy from the Tower of Lightning. Over many days the slann of Muntoatl consentrated, two slann gave their entire essance in support. Finally the ritual was done. Like a great inhale the uncontrolled magic was drawn into the newly created Great Vortex at the center of Ulthuan. Nearly spent Xapota lapsed into a deep sleep.
