Additional 3" really crucial for that? Although you could try for Bastiladon T1 charges, lol.
but the saurus oldbloods commands ability with the add 1s to hit with charge allows guard and carnosaur to hit on 1s!!!!!!!!
I'm pretty sure there is a rule that 1's always fail
there is going beond 2+ to hit just protects you from -s to hit
The problem is just none of those units really can take a hit once you've established the control. It's awesome to just move up and sit on objectives and dominate board control with horrors, or ardboyz, or fyreslayers because they aren't going to immediately die when something touches them.
Also having a good battalion will be huge. Getting the choice of first turn to establish that board control or give it away and counter charge will really get the most out of that specific trait. If we have a good counter punch army, that trait will do wonders.
Either way, i'm super excited to get the missing spots filled in. We're just missing so much crucial information right now it's hard to see exactly where any given list/host/unit is going to lean.
I suspect the (mandatory?) artefacts and command traits will do more to determine which constellations are best.
Similarly, I’ll be shocked if some artefacts aren’t locked behind ‘coalesced’ or ‘Starborne’ only.
In some cases tho the best may not be the best for a certain strategy
I'd be interested to see the specific breakdown of what coalesced gets vs starborne.
At the moment, scaly skin and plus 1 jaw attack simply dont make up for losing summoning and teleporting, so I'm thinking there's a missing piece somewhere

I like what I've seen so far of the rules preview, but something has me feeling a bit uneasy. Like they're going to take away one (or a few) iconic/cherished thing(s) that will infuriate every Seraphon player out there (ie. losing Wary Fighters or blowpipe/shield on skink warscrolls/loadout as some have mentioned before).
But, I won't let the darkness overshadow the light at the end of the tunnel that is this week! I can already see it now, as soon as GMG/MWG/or whoever you're go-to YouTuber/blogger that reviews battletomes put up their vids, this forum is gonna explode! (for better or for worse, but hoping it's the former!)
I'm pretty excited to see the full thing. I doubt they'd take away wary fighter.... But if they do, skinks will become literal chaffe to throw away, more so than before.
As to the reviews. It will be a veritable frenzy and there will be spilled blood.
Don't forget unique command abilities for constellations. You want to take some just for them. Battle Traits are not everything.
Very true. Command Traits, Artefacts, Command abilities, and battalion bonuses all weigh heavily into list optimizing.
Speaking of artifacts, I wonder what we will be getting. It should be fun whatever it is as most of the current version nes are useless
True, Light of Dracothion (might be the DT artefact?) and Incandescent Rectricies are the only good ones at the moment.
