I've been taping up my scenery ready for spraying. At some point I think I want to magnetise them, but for now I just want them painted, so I've covered up the contact points and left the rest. Is this the right thing to do?

Latest bit of "conversion" work (I have been doing other stuff, honest, I just need to post some pictures of them). Any ideas as to what to proxy him as - personally I don't think he seems much like the Skink Priest type!

I would probably use him as a chief or a champion/brave etc in a unit. Without swapping out the sword you're right he looks a bit out of place. I would probably toss him in to a unit of skinks, handlers or even chameleons. It would actually look pretty cool as a chameleon stalker if someone just modded the tail a little and maybe sculpted a camouflage cloak or something :p

I'm thinking of starting up a "trophy system" for my Seraphon forces. My bits box currently has a lot of skulls and teeth to hang off of things, so I was thinking I might keep track of things like how many units I wipe out in gaming and things like that, and for each one put a certain type of skull or head or something on one of my units. I don't know whether it would be feasible to do it to already painted models to show their kills or whether I'd just have to stick to unsprayed ones, but it would make my models tell a bit more of a story and add something I can intimidate potential enemies with. What do you lot think?

    Some examples:

I like that idea! Guess it shouldn't be too much of a problem to add stuff like that to already painted models... you could start by adding stuff to the banner and move on to the champion's shield and from the command team to r'n'f models... skulls and bones or broken shields and weapons could be placed on the bases to indicate special events... something like a (bunch of) broken arrow(s) for taking out a unit of archers or surviving being shot at every single turn with no losses during the entire game ... the skull of a horse for killing cavalry... and if they kill a monster they make fetish necklace from it's teeth...

The only opponent I really regularly go up against is that of a Khorne army, so a lot of it would be based around that. The question about adding to existing models is more about how to do it, whether I spray them and what glue to use, that sort of thing

What do you mean by whether you spray them? painting wise? I would definitely do that! the Two options I see are to just paint them monochromatic in one color (leaving a possibility to colorcode the achievement they stand for or got with the unit color) or to go into detail an paint the stuff "properly" (leaving the kind of thing to indicate the achievement it stands for)... but i'd paint them.
According to glue: I think superglue will du the job...

I’ve built my Scar Vet on Carnosaur, but at the moment I have the rider separate from the mount. Should I keep it like that for painting, or should I glue it on before spraying?

    Keep it separate. Much easier.
