Glad to see it motivates someone. It was not planned as a big project, goal was to have under 20 of each unit, but in the end that makes it about 120 figures.
We went to Dino Park yesterday! It was really nice experience, about half of those dinos were moving and growling. There even was a ride and driver had animatronic puppet that he took to each kid and let them pet it. He was the nicest guy! It took us 4 hours to walk the whole thing. Anyways, here are some dinos for you
8 more scouts finished for total of 15. That is all scouts with shields I have. Next ones are scouts with bows, that are already half done.
Nice job, man. There is much more detail on this version than the metal one, that I have. Grrr, !mrahil
I am actually considering that I might try to get my hands on one of those old sculpts in the future. They have that classic hand sculpted look. Anyways, I had more time.
I dug up my old stock of blue stuff and pressed few molds for uruk hai shields. We'll see how they turn out. Edit: also, I opened new package of greenstuff, fully prepared for me almost getting bruises from kneading it and darn! It was absolutely effortless. I guess that my 5 years old package was not in best shape.
Three rounds and I made 4 passable shields. I could have had 5, but as dwarves of Khazad Dum... I got greedy and dug too deep
Still have to fill cracks, clean and base two of the wargs, but they are presentable GW told me that there are only two spears in the box, so I made more.
First batch of warriors are finished. Couple more and I can storm Helm´s Deep I also made two more scouts with homemade shields (6 in total) to boost numbers, converted scout to hold banner and made wannabe Oathmaker for wild men (so I have some cheap cannon fodder). Yup, just drop it into boiling water, knead a bit, press model into it and you have yourself a mold to work from. Best part is that when you don´t need it anymore, you just boil it again and make new mold of something else.
Looking great, awesome pace of work as well. Keep it up! I saw this as well at my local hobby store and consider buying it at my next visit. Grrr, !mrahil
Search for "Oyumaru". Same stuff, just transparent (what I use) and half the price. Blue stuff is just Greenstuffworld naming and more widely recognized.
Apart from 5 scouts that I forgot in second box and found while packing up stuff, everything I assembled from those two battlehosts is primed and preshaded. Wargs and done I, just have to paint riders. Couple of FoW tanks are almost done, they are only missing commanders and pintle mounted machine guns.
