Hey, got 2 lizardmen battalions and 2 characters so i decided to log my progress on here for myself, and anyone who is interested. Going for 4000 total points. starting with an Oldblood on foot and skinks, J/S, more to come the following weeks. That's what i got so far, still need to do bases and final details but i think im gonna get everything painted up to par with this before i move onto finer details.
If you hope to keep that level of painting up until you have 4000 points I applaud your truly heroic venture and wish you all the best. I like your scheme and am really digging the alternating scale colours on the oldblood, it looks really good!
Thanks for the positive feedback guys, i hope to be finishing the 4000 points by the start of summer. I have a few more photos for you guys, purchased a carnosaur a few days ago and was so excited i painted it within 2 days, start to finish. Also got 8 of the 40 saurus warriors completed, 3 of which are the command group. As always feel free to criticize or compliment any aspect, painting or photography, always enjoy taking feedback and improving my work, thank you.
Congrats on creating such a unique and beautiful colour scheme. It is looking amazing so far! The Carno and Oldblood is particularly striking. Can't wait to see more.
They look really good, you seem to be painting them very quickly, Ive nearly finished my first set of cold one riders but that has taken me weeks! keep the pics coming
MOAR PICS RAWRS, so I finished the steg+howda+engine, still need to do the crew. One thing i want to explain is the fluff behind the paint scheme, so my lizards hail from a southern part of Lustria with a cold climate and many volcanoes, it snows frequently, but volcanic activity is also frequent so the lava from the volcanoes streams down and melts the surrounding snow, causing a thin warm mist to form just above the ground, the lizardmen use this mist as a source of warmth outside of their dwellings. I wanted to replicate this on one model to get a better idea of how it would look, one thing im having trouble with is painting the lava and finding a good way to make it shine differently than the colours on the model, i used a gloss varnish over the lava but i think it might have been old and some parts clumped and weren't 100% clear. Also, i think im going to base everything with astrogranite, and then add a thin layer of mourn mountain snow, what do you think? Another would be finding a material better than cotton balls to use a mist. Any suggestions? Thanks a lot for the feedback you've given and the feedback to come, sorry for picture quality lol
Really nice minis, your colour scheme is unique and very eye catching especially on the bigger units. Nice work.
