I am asking for opinions for a 2K list I am using next month. Any input is appreciated and I will list what other units I have available at the end. Allegiance: Seraphon General: Oldblood on Carnosaur (Thickly Scaled Hide and Rectrices) Leaders: Scar Vet on Carno (Blade of Realities) Astrolith Bearer Scar Vet on Cold One Skunk Starpriest Sunblood Battleline: 5 knights 5 knights 5 knights 40 warriors Other: Kroxigor Battalion: Bloodclaw Other units available: Skunk priest x 2 Stegadon EoG Bastiladon Also thought of running a Thunderquack/Firelance army but without a slann wasn't sure it would be competitive enough. Lastly, if I understand the rules on relics you can have one for your general and 1 for each battalion paid for. Please correct me if I am wrong. Thanks in advance.
First of all: Welcome to the forums! As for your list: My main point of critique is the rather low amount of wounds, that might be problematic. It might still work well, there are considerable threats your opponent has to face. Not sure what you want to use the Kroxigor for, though... What's your strategy for them?
I have been using the Kroxigor as objective getters and monster killers in my practice matches. Originally I had a Stegadon with skystreak now instead of the Starpriest, Kroxigor, & AB. The current combo has been working but I have only practiced against Ogors. I have about 4 weeks before the tournament and am willing to try about anything my wallet can handle.
Hmmm... Kroxigor as Monster killers? I only used them against hordes. I tend to say that for that list a mass unit might actually be better than the Krox. Skinks for example. But then I am a sucker for Skinks so I am biased. Hmmm.... any other opinions, guys?
I know they don't typically get used that way but they work when you roll well, I should have said hero killers. I do use them on horses as well but to be honest they are in the army because I don't own Rippers which are also 160 points. I know if I drop my OB on Carno to a free standing version I can change them out for a behemoth but my list was made with what I already own.
Update: Reworked the numbers and made some changes. See below: Allegiance: Seraphon General: Oldblood on Carnosaur (Thickly Scaled Hide and Coronal Shield) Leaders: Scar Vet on Carno (Blade of Realities) Scar Vet on Cold One Skunk Starpriest Sunblood Skink Priest w/ Trappings Battleline: 5 knights 5 knights 5 knights 40 warriors Other: Stegadon w/ bow Battalion: Bloodclaw May do 1 unit of 10 knights & 1 of 5 instead of 3 of 5 knights. Thoughts as a whole?
Sure, might work. Although it is pretty melee heavy. But the threats are definitely there with that big Saurus blob and two Carnosaurs. But....autocorrect hates you. I guess you don't want to bring a Skunk Starpriest. Those are smelly.
I don't know. If they offered one and it had a small bonus like the Felwater Trolgoths I would take it. As per the melee heavy, I was looking for ways to add more range but with the Bloodclaw and my lack of range models my options are limited. Only other range I have is a Basti or EoG. Razors and Salis are my next purchases.
I thought that as well but it has less wounds, attacks and would points on the table with what other models I have.
not profiled, far more survivable, you already have boatloads of melee and thus the more attacks in RANGE is what i'd be looking for
Update: worked some numbers and angles and am now fielding as follows. Allegiance: Seraphon General: Oldblood on Carnosaur (Thickly Scaled Hide and Coronal Shield) Leaders: Scar Vet on Carno (Blade of Realities) Scar Vet on Cold One Sunblood Battleline: 5 knights 5 knights 30 warriors 3 Kroxigor 3 Terradon Riders Other: Bastiladon Battalion: Bloodclaw Thoughts?
