[pic][/pic]Hello all So i just registered here, although I have been playing around with Lizardmen for a couple years now, been in the hobby for more about a decade and a half now. Though i would register and show off some of my work and get some feedback as I am starting to work on painting again after a bit of a break... I have a few armies on the go, my primary is High Elves (fieldable force of 6000pts + extras for versatility), Lizardmen (2500), Beastmen (2500), and Ogres (2000). I also have about 2000 points of Vampires I converted for a friend, he moved and left them behind in my basement Here is my Slann
Welcome to the board, mate. Your slann is great, good work on the gold and jade/red bands. You could give them pupils for their eyes, and it might add something.
Some more pics Side view of Slann. The Basing is done over a pool of water that flows into the basing scheme of the templeguard. They look a bit grayer in the pics than they do in person... they have a green gray hue to them. Unit Champ Saurus unit Have some more pics soon Feedback positive or negative is always welcome... (i know i need to work on taking better pics)
Thanks, Oddly I never thought of pupils for my lizards... I think you are right it would add to them.
^ i was about to say this too! great colour scheme, nice and subdued which i like, also very realistic horns on the slaans throne ^agreed, I dont think the pictures do your models justice, but they still look good keep it coming!
Wow, thanks for the positive feedback. The unit champ is actually a model I use for a character, I doubled the length of the weapon i order to count it as a GW. I made an effort to take some better photos. Back view of aforementioned Character Unit topview Another character with maiming shield Chameleon Skinks I have more pics to come just have to upload them,
OOOoooohhh.... Sweet Chameleon Skinks. I love how they are blending into the custom bases. altough I think the water bases could use a loss.
Looks like you took some plastics, and added googly eyes and curled tails, am I right? Great concept and well executed.
Thanks, and actually they have a water effect glaze on the base but not the model. Took a few shots before i could get the angle right to not have a glare. not sure if I should water glaze the skinks themselves though, thoughts are welcome on that. Yep, and razor knifed the crests off. the majority of what I have was built from one old garrison box.
Opps I meant more gloss, Yea since the skinks are emerging from the water I suspect they would be quite wet, and the water could be a bit shinier.
Agreed, they will get a glossing. Here is my skink priest, meant as mobile magic artillery Floating on a magic marshmallow from High Elf mage kit if I recall correctly.
Ohhh Excelent work on the priest. Hmmm... I think the marsh mellow could use a thin glaze of blue to smooth it out though.
Nice work! I really like the color scheme, I haven't seen anyone do grey Saurus yet. I love your Chamos also, I planned to do mine very similar~ Btw Where did you get that pillar where that one Chamo is hiding ?
Ah, the pillar came from a dungeon pack for Wizkids mage night game, picked it up years and years ago. I cut the pillar, and greenstuffed some extra vines, and general tidying up, the other pieces are on my Cold Ones bases, along with a very Slannesque statue.
Good stuff! My only issue is that the hero/champion is sitting very stiff and upright as his cold one is bounding off the statute. I feel it would look a bit better with the head adjusted a bit to look slightly down and the weapon arm adjusted so that the weapon is not straight up and down--either cocked back a bit or pointing forward--to look a bit more dynamic.
