Heyho, New to AoS and Lizardmen, but have games for many years (most recently, 40k for the last few years, eldar). I have started off my army with a start collecting box, and added a Skink Starpriest, and Lord Kroak was donated by a friend from my gaming group. I've painted them up over the last few weeks, so I'll try to keep track of new stuff as I add it. Dave
First one I did was my Carnasaur, modelled with the Oldblood rider. Did the dino almost all with the airbrush, using Vallejo air paints. All in all, took maybe 8 hours (not including drying time)
Next unit was the warriors. I actually found these pretty nice to paint, for line troops. I think it was because they don't have a lot of superfluous detail, so you can crank out a lot of the quickly. All the blues were done with airbrush, same for the Shields.
Last finished model for now, Lord Kroak himself. As with all old resin models, I found the detail a bit rough in places, but he's fine for tabletop. Tried to give his skull a ghostly glow, to represent his psychic might, not sure if I like it. Anyways, it's done now.
Ok, into the current WIPs. Per the standard tutorial, I've kitbashed an Astrolith Standard Bearer, and I also got together the bits to make an Oldblood on foot. I just had to make him a rough body out of brown stuff. I'll detail it better once this initial lump sets hard.
Welcome along! Nice models to start with, generous donation of your gaming group. I like the colors on of the feathers, the tusks on the carno and your Kroak overall Good work on the yellow skink as well! The gold can use an extra touch though, looks a bit dull in my opinion. Gr, Imrahil
Yeah, I had planned on doing a different color on top, but stopped after the green (Vallejo game air escopena green), because I thought it looked good. Quick drybrush of grey on the scales, and a brown wash.
Ok, my last bit of unpainted lizards are done I have a few more small purchases in the post (krox, proxy razordons, proxy salamanders, slann), but I'm waiting for the battletome before doing any more major pieces Dave
Really great work! Big fan of your saurus and saurus cav. I like your painting style, really enjoyed that standard bearer conversion as well!
