Oy! Now that I've finally bought some Lizardmen(Great deal btw) I thought I'd be able to start a painting blog. The Lizardmen should arrive in my mailbox sometime either tomorrow or Monday. Anyway, as soon as I get them I'll post WiP pics on Everything in the old battalion 10 temple guard Also 2 kroxigors(the current ones) but they'll come later... I'm not too worried about getting scammed thou... Mostly since he's a Mod on the forum I bought them of him from and I haven't been banned... And he's a friend too so... Well, this kind of thing is quite a large undertaking. Good luck with it, if I tried to make a painting blog it'd get updated like twice a month.
It seems even larger thou... Seems it's 40 FRIGGIN' SAURUS! Me happy! Now that I got them today(I got the little paper thing yesterday but couldn't get it) I'm gonna post some piccies. ^^ -WARNING- Photos are taken with a cellphone, the weak hearted are advised. First the big box! Then I opened the box... With my BIG knife! Knife's not on the pic thou... Then I picked up everything with a base. ^^ A bunch of saurus 34 to be exact... And 3 Temple guard, they are even the new ones! Then I photoed the other guys that's currently KIA until my "Book of how to repair plastic models" is found... Aka glue... Ye... Quite a bunch. Now I photoed the sprues, mainly containing skinks... That's it for today folks and I'm off to the club for the weekend, hopefully some painted saurus will sohw up on monday! ^^ Cheers!
Oy! Now after roughly a week I'm home... Which means I'm updating this thread, seemingly thou my sisters have packed the cameras down so I'll have to put a warning sign in this post... -WARNING- Following photos are taken with a cellphone, the weak-hearted are advised. First off this deuce-saurus I converted from Cold one rider bits, saurus bits and skink bits... The converting progress isn't done on this, I need to add greenstuff armour on him. If you guess what he'll be you get 5 pts. ^^ Some craptacular pics of the cold one Some of the rider(you got a clue of what it'll be yet?) So... Well... Anyhow, I ofc didn't only do that deuce-of-a-saurus in 5 days... I did... 2 Saurus champions! 1 from each regiment. ^^ Spears and hand weapons. The spear-deuce isn't so epic thou... The hand weapon-deuce however... He's pimp! Not epic? Well what about a different angle? He got a big ass weapon. ^^ So now you might all wonder "Ok... So it says painting blog... Where's the painting!?" Well the painting is here... (look around in the corners of the pics and you might see some) Nha just joking, I've painted a Temple guard to test my scheme. I can do nothing but thank a friend of mine for helping me with the painting on the shield(i.e how to get the colour) Temple guard! (With a Kryptonite staff!) As it is now it's only details(eyes, teeth, claws and spikes) left to do. So give me some C&C. ^^ Anyhow, I hope you didn't have a seizure when you watched these pics, that wouldn't be good... Kinda odd Color Combo.. I have to see some more to get a better 'view' of it tbh. I like the 2nd Champion so far.. looking forward to some more painted models!!!
Oy! Era! Well thanks guys. ^^ WheelR@ It is odd, I've considered going for the classic blue a couple of times but... Nha... Currently I'm trying to figure out why the spikes is such an epic fail... Had a look in the AB and decided that well... My painting skills doesn't reach to horns and spikes... I'll have to train a bit... Darn... Well well, you'll have to endure the craptacular spikes when I post them. Nothing today thou, I'm trying to convert the sca... Saurus(!) a bit more, found Tyranid bits useful for armour... Cheers!
I don't like the standard blue.. my Saurus were Hawk Turquoise Scales and Warlock Purple skin.. after a wash and a brush it changed to some kind of blue rocky scales.. it looks weird in a nice way. But like i said.. I would love to see more. I like odd combo's.
If you prefer odd combos, I should post a couple pics of some models I've recently finished. All of my lizardmen scales and almost all the skin tones use Pearlescent paint for covering. Cool. ^^ Well anyway... Seemingly my wiry mind have messed things up(again!) so I seem to not have my glue at the moment... This means: 1. no converting until I get it 2. I'll have to satisfy my converting needs with greenstuff 3. I'll have to paint... So until monday(I think) I'll pretty much just post pics of painted stuff and minor convertions on the saurus. EDIT: Seemingly I had misplaced my glue... In the same box as I put my lizards... Damn I'm feeling a bit stupid! Converted skinks on the way! After I've completed my skink->skink chief conversion. ^^ IOW, when all my heroes/lords are done(If you didn't notice I'm converting them from regular foot soldiers, skinks and cold one riders etc.) I'm starting to think my skinks will look better than my saurus... The don't have those annoying spikes... So I'm considering adding armour on the spike for the saurus... A bit dodgy but hey. EDIT: Ok... Seeing there's no 'delete' button here I'll satisfy myself with editing... Anyhow, did I mention a skink->skink chief conversion? Yes I did... So here he is! He's gotten a cloak of feathers, mostly since I'm going to run him as a FNSoD (Flying Ninja Skink o' Doom) (2 HWs, cloak of feathers and bane head... IOW a mage hunter) So... Oh, Mind his WiP(you'll see why ) 'Ere you go! It's this side under this text that makes the skink a WiP. Considering it's the first time I'm doing feathers I'm satisfied with the completed side, it was quite easy actually, definitely not hard... Or I dunno... I need a name thou... Please? Just write Mr <letter> since I want to add the lizardmen symbol for that letter on his shield(As I'm gonna paint the Lizardmen symbol for 'D' on Mr D's cloak) Cheers!

The first sentence was rather messy... Where did this ELLEGARDEN song come from? Mr F wouldn't work too good as there's no symbol for 'F' in Lizardmanian(?) And the krox would be awesome, should give him a Mohawk too. And cape! Everybody loves capes! No matter ho much you get sucked into air plane turbines... And ofc... Thanks! ^^ So... I finished the chief, so he now have a complete clo'k o' fethas! 'Ere he is! (Possibly Mr. BM as in Bird man...) Mr. Feather is a song from ELLEGARDEN a Japanese rock-ish band. They sing in English tho.. pretty good actually. I forgot that the F did not exist at the lizardmen language. How did you actually do those feathers? Just used a knife or something to make those lines? It really looks like he has some camo poncho. But still it looks great ^^... Looking forward to the paint-job!
