Contest Lustria Online - First sculpting competition POLL NOW OPEN

My idea was to take the forgeworld slann and convert him into a Lord Kroak (as I don't have that model)

That is an expensive model to do a conversion on, but if anyone can pull it off it's you. And if you win, you'll find yourself with TWO custom Kroak models.

Aw, crud! I just found this thread! Well...I'm not sure that I really have time to get something done, but I can try if it's still open.

Cut off is still December 1?
Green stuff is a difficult medium, but practice practice practice! Although my project is starting to resemble what I'd had in mind, so that's encouraging! Couple of reworks and one major mistake, but as always power through it and make it work!

Yes, unless I have a few people struggling it still stands as December.
But any problems from anyone just let me know.

December 1 as a cut off?.... i hope i'll have enough time to end something i had started this month...
i will take part of this!!

Yes it is, you should have enough time, but let me know if you don't.

ok, thank you
Is the first time i make a conversion of a miniature, and even if i don't win the contest, i am feeling great doing it, so that's already a reward :p

Very glad to hear it, I look forward to seeing your work and any work you do in the future. :)

I bet you will see it :D
My first "heavy" conversion and i'm liking it as much as painting, if not even more...
Just got today some greenstuff (a friend recommended it for the details, as i was using the epoxy from Andrea until now)
I am going all in here!
I'm almost in love with that lord Kroak (and i don't have any kroak so...):p

This is awesome man! great idea @Rikard ! Im out for this one because of time constraints but would love to take part in one next year sometime!!! havnt done much sculpting with green stuff so its really daunting XD! cannot wait to see the entries! can we get a gallery set up when all is said and done?

That is awesome news, I am so happy to hear you're enjoying it!
I did start a 3rd Lord Kroak miniature a few years ago, I was even lucky enough to have a sketch sent to me by the original artist Mark Gibbons, I'm thinking now (or soon) is a good time for a revival.

Thanks @woogity ! Sorry to hear you're over worked, but I'm hoping it clears up for you soon.
I'll make a gallery when all is done, I've had about 4-5 different people so far (don't worry, I have all of your PMs and pics safely stored), but have already been thinking about a second one at a later date.

I think I'll open up a discussion topic about it nearer the time (I might even do it sooner, to hear peoples' thoughts and feelings, just so long as any potential prizes remain a secret :P).

image.jpg Hello, new to the forums. I'd like to sign up for this challenge, I'll be merging the new plastic carnosaur with the plastic stegadon to create an Arcanodon with engine of the gods based on one from the Lustria campaign.
I'm sure some of you will remember this beast, I believe based upon the forgeworld Kroot Beast?
Anyway, I'll be getting the kits next week and hope to have something to share soon.

Will you be using the same Gyro-thingy in the picture? 'Cuz, that thing is just cool!

With this in line, my own conversion may as well hide in the bush. Supreme idea, especially because Arcanodon model is very hard to acquire.

Oh no I'm not intending to put anyone off! I'm excited to see what everyone else is working on soon :)

I'll be attempting to make one from scratch, or if not that then I'll just convert the engine of the gods from the steg kit, add a few planets build a solar system model.
