Sunday update on the boys in the drunk tank. A fair few have sperated from bases. I think it's time for a first cleaning
Well, don't know why the red primer won't de-bond, but I've got 14 mostly clean scions. One lost a foot and was a casualty.
Command base for the first brigade of the legion of Chotec. Which is going to be a brick of 4 regiments of Saurus.
Work in progress on my second unit of Saurus warriors. 3rd is also half done. Also, a saurus hero command stand. I am calling this as simply a scar veteran. And with the other unit:
Did some touch ups. Calling them complete and moving on to the next unit. I'm going to base these as a brigade which is why they have no basing material currently. I'm not sure why the highlight on the scales on the back is not coming out brighter. It looks better in person.
After some reflection, the 10mm lizardmen army is renamed: This is now the Host of Zlatlan.all Saurus will be orange, these are the "standard" scheme.
After self reflection: The 10mm army is renamed: The Host of Zlatlan. The existing Saurus regiments provide the base color scheme. I'm planning to mix in sacred spawnings. No I don't technically need that many Saurus for warmaster. I discovered however that I like many of the sacred spawning colors, so im going to paint some. Forest dragon also made the Saurus in strips of 5. Which may have been a minor mistake, because now I want to print and paint enough sores for each unit to be a hundred members strong. Even though that ludicrous, would take a decent chunk of time, and have absolutely no gameplay reasons for existing. Yes of course I'm thinking about doing it.
My hobby hour this evening was spent fleshing out my plan for the learn to sculpt challenge series from @Rikard . I'm going to turn a 3D printed source champion into a battle standard bearer for my fledgling 10mm Host of Zlatlan. I also did a little work on a third saurus regiment for this first, unmarked brigade of 4.
By the way guys, always happy to have commentary. Working on more aztecs now.spc specifically building, although I've put some time in on two more Jaguar warriors with alternate Tlahuiztli colors.
You all may have caught on to the fact that I really enjoyed seeing and being a part of making my dream kit come to life. Ive, ah, been bitten by a muse lately it seems. Work continues!
I put the first coat on six of them. Now my body is saying sleep so I'm going to get some sleep. Talk to you later.
I couldn't see any options for Eagle Warriors on the sprue, which is a shame. I can't see WA making a special kit just for them when the Jaguar Warriors appeared in the standard kit either
