I've been tweaking a few lists in my head for Koatl's Claw. I have a few I'm excited to try out. And - I'd never run it myself because it would be way too much money, but Im curious if its viable now for a full raptor list? Something like this:

    Saurus Oldblood on Carno (260)
    Saurus ScarVet on Carno (260)
    Saurus ScarVet on Aggrodon (160)
    Skink Starpriest (130)

    Aggrodon Lancers x6 (380)
    Aggrodon Lancers x6 (380)
    Aggrodon Lancers x6 (380)

    Chromatic Cogs (50)

    2000/2000

With the new cohesion rules allowing 6 units wide instead of 5, can space out the raptor line. Use the Carno ability to move himself, and 2 units of saurus during the hero phase. Give the 3rd unit of aggrodons run + charge. Ideally take 2nd turn, so they're a little closer. Then alpha slam 18 raptors and a carno into the enemy lines. Then pop the Scar Vet +1 attacks for the raptors and have fun with your alpha haha.

That list would look awesome charging forward with the aggradons and carnosaurs which I think are some of the best looking units we have. I definitely like the new cohesion rules which also helps out kroxigors as well. You may want to take a unit of skinks just for screening purposes just in case you don’t get the 2nd turn priority which would be hard to predict… unless you got some loaded dice :jimlad:. That would probably decimate any front line units they have. I haven’t run any aggradons yet though just don’t have the models either but eventually I will though

Yea, my more balanced list looks like this haha, a lot less alpha - but the warrior tankiness is just too good to ignore.

    Saurus Scar on Carno (260)
    Skink Starpriest (130)
    Saurus Astrolith Bearer (140)
    Saurus Oldblood (130)

    Saurus Warriors x10 (180)
    Saurus Warriors x10 (180)
    Aggrodon Lancers x6 (380)
    Kroxigar x3 (160)

Bastiladon w/ Ark of Sotek (180)
    Stegadon (260)

    2000/2000

Was wondering why your taking the scar vet instead of the oldblood?

I do love the new warriors. Their survivability is outstanding. I’m taking 30 of them in a 1k list to try and tie the enemy up for most of the match. They won’t be able to get away unless they got some teleport stuff. 60 wounds of -1 damage and 6+ward is definitely going to take some time to chew through haha

I do like the kroxigors they are definitely my fav unit. They deal a good amount of damage, I prefer the warspawn though due to the rend. 10 points for more rend but 4 less attacks for every 3 is worth it.

I originally had the Scar Vet in the list as a hammer, because of the frenzy ability to do damage afterwards. So if anyone rammed something super scary into the warrior block (had a few games against Kragnos, Ogre Mammoths, Maw Crusha's and Zombie Dragons) having him there as a side flanker designed to kill bigguns was good. Thats why I made sure to bring the Old blood on foot to buff up the warrior units if needed.

But now that they're evenly pointed, I might have to revisit my strategy, and potentially swap for the Oldblood to a mount, and then try and find something else to bring along for those 130 pts. Spawn maybe...

ya that does make sense, those guys are definitely hard to go against. Those zombie dragons are fucked seen one go down to 1 wound left then claw its way back to full health a few turns later

So I came up with a new army aspect that could work out well. It involves a slann and the warriors(could also be any non-monster unit). So have 2 units of them get them both with the hero move, then the front one with heavenly frenzy charge it into their front line and run the other one right behind it. Then when it’s your turn again teleport to back to 9” away and charge the other fresh unit of warriors in. Then on your next turn can try and bring back models with that heroic action maybe emerald lifeswarm not sure if it would be worth bringing the endless spell. Just repeat to keep them in their deployment as long as you can.

    Heeeeeyyyy!

Been a long time reader from the dark but now taking a step into the light.

    Lol anyways.

Got back into buying the minis again. At the moment I have the minis to field a 1k list soon to grow. Going with what I like/want to play...

    1k list

    Leader:
    -Saurus Oldblood 130
    -Saurus Scar-Veteran on Aggradon 160
    -Skink Starpreist 130

    Battleline:
    -Aggradon Lancers 190x2 380
    -Saurus Warriors(spear) 180
    =980

I'm sure a few will have problems with the SV on aggy but t^.^t I love the new minis so my list around them!
