personal growth and exercise - accountability thread.

    Contrary to most people, I hate taking notes in a notebook. I always lose them.

    So I'm going to keep track of my personal growth and exercise regimens.

    I am trying to walk at least once a day, and my step goal is 10,000 steps per day at present (February 19th 2024.)

    I've also started to incorporate dumbbell workouts into my routine. Just arm curls at the moment.

    I have gained weight over the last 6 months and I want to arrest that and work on losing. On a scale last night I was 199 lbs, up from 165 prior to may 2023.

    I'm going to attribute most of that to eating my feelings, because the first professional therapist I saw did not work out and I'm having trouble finding another. As you may or may not know, I went through some rough times and the middle to late of last year.

    My goal going forward is to take care of myself as number one priority.

    Thankfully, I also gained a promotion in one of my contract jobs earlier this month. That's going to come with a sizable pay bump once the "pending" month of February wraps up.

    This will allow me to clear up some lingering debt and better my situation in general.

    Today, the 19th of february, 2024:

    1 hour walk, racking up 7500ish steps.

    4 sets of 10 arm curls with each arm. 5 pound weights.

    Yesterday I only got 6500 steps but did my usual sets of weights

    Wednesday I met my daily goals. Thursday I did roughly 8k steps and missed my arm weights accidentally.

    I met step goal on march 14th, but did not complete a muscle workout.

    I've actually been struggling with attaining a rhythm for the exercise regimen. I've missed a few days for various reasons. I need to fix that.

    That's okay. There will always be setbacks. Just keep at it!
