I was right... One painting session in and I already went further than on airbrushed one, because I only have to correct few spots
Yesterday was busy. After lunch, I managed to quickly paint some more stuff on stegadon and when colleague came to ask what mini is that, I dryfitted howdah to show him how it´ll look. Then afternoon it was tuesday at modellers club where I timed how much can I do in 2 hours. Result is below I still have to add few strokes of camo onto helmets and tarps, but otherwise that last unit is finished and I am ready for public play at June 3rd. And today I brought terminators to the office as they are simple build without options. Still waiting for that bloody basing paste (now with DG 36 models in line for painting)... Here is group picture of them with Typhus and Biologus Putrifier.
Wish me luck. I took remaining best of the worst saurus(es?) and I have to paint additional models for my finished units because now there are only single banner bearer and drummer per 10 models. I only remember color scheme on one of those units, so I am really hoping to get as close as possible
My better half suprised me and let me visit modellers club again today. Germans are finished, saurus warriors are primed and ready and there is significant progress on stegadon. And after 30 minutes working on skystreak bow, I tried fitting it onto stegadon just to find out that I painted wrong one... I must have swapped them by mistake and I worked on the one with magnets in different spots (hence for different dino). What is worse is that correct one has different primer, so I have to reprime it black and start again.
With stegadon and saurus warriors on table, basing paste on the way and plenty of DG stuff worked on, I naturally had a urge to start yet something else. So I packed out Troglodon and started cleaning mold lines on model. I plan to glue it tomorrow so I can start painting it right after I finish stegadon.
Simple crew for Stegadon is finished. Now onto last remaining bits on howdah itself... And of course that damn ballista...
Saurus warriors are done. I want to varnish them before comparing too much, because those colors seems a bit odd for now, but we'll see. Stegadon is almost done. I just need to glue crew and chains for climbing onto howdah. Troglodon is primed. Darn, that vallejo black primer spray made quick work of it.
Another one bites the grass (I suppose) Third stegadon is finished! And bonus photo of all 3 (so far) together crammed in small space. Spoiler: Small stampede
Today is good. Package finally arrived, so I was finally able to smell that new new plastic crack that ia our army box... also that second slann that I won at auction about two weeks ago finally arrived after many excuses from seller and double shipping.
I tried out couple of basing ideas for DG today and I am really not sure which one to do. All I know is that it will not be green one as it would probably blend too much with models. What do you, guys, think? (Ignore those brown splotches, I tried typhus corrosion on top and it doesn't look good) Spoiler: Paint scheme of model
I woke up at 5AM to relax with some models. I managed to do bases on all 30 poxes and start basing those BA germans.
I'd go with either the Guilliman Flesh or Skeleton Horde one myself. Any of the non-green ones would be good though
Thanks for advice. Before final decision, I'll take those bases to office and put them directly under model to see how it looks.
