Congratulations on the 1000st post, your contribution to the forum is well received I really like how the Carnosaur is looking right now Grrr, !mrahil
I decided that I'll try marble look for oldblood throne. Dino has first layer of paints apart from metalic parts and FOUR layers of off-white on throne... and it is still patchy as heck. I really hope that fifth layer will correct it all, otherwise I'll start loosing details. Edit: and patience
This was odd week, a lot of small things done, yet no significant progress on any single particulat thing. Most was done on wargs for warg riders. I finished those mounts, now onto riders. Good news is that Featheed Serpent dino has first layer done, Marble is finished (-ish) and after layer of varnish, I´ll start working on some "lizard camo" and metalics.
I managed to get two layers of varnish dino during weekend, so I am working tirelessly on it whenever I can. Meanwhile lunchbreak at work helped to finish warg riders: Reinforcements for Bolt action D-Day games scheduled next month: And Feathered serpent rider:
Finally at least some hobby time. Today, I preshaded chameleon skinks and four crossbowmen uruks. I also tried to scavenge 3 out of 4 3D printed Nazghuls. They had some bad rip lines, probably because of weak supports. We'll see how I managed after priming and preshading. I also found guy selling his sealed box of blood bowl team. No intention of starting it, but those buggers are adorable.
I needed quick 3D print, because I am clumsy and collegue borrowed me three minis (thankfully unpainted) which I managed to break immediately. So I prepared print bed and filled remainig space with only thing I have in PC currently... I guess I have fifth Stegadon now
First game after year! In preparation for D-Day tournament (coming later this month), colleague and I took our Germans for training exercise to figure out weak spots in our lists. It was great fun. We started game with preparatory bombardment, that hit both of our forces, so we started with some pins. Luckily, nobody was killed right off. Later, we moved most of our forces to almost center of table, because victory points were given for each unit positioned in any of table quarter (and for destroying enemy unit as well). There were some really intense fight there. That darn autocannon rode right in front of my grenadiers nad wiped them out. But not before I heroically fired 3 fausts from point blank and missed all of those shots. He also ran at me from side with halftrack filled with shrikers (inexperienced cowards). That didn´t end well for him. This time my fausts didn´t miss. Ah yeah, here we can see some war crimes in progress. His HQ with assault rifles advanced and fired at my medics in desperate hunt for more victory points. Situation at table center during last turn. It took 6 rounds, but my Puma finally shot and didn´t miss. damaging halftrack (but not even managing to destroy it). My unit with all assault rifles attacked that autocannon and destroyed it. Final score was 9:6 Victory points. Germans won. End highlights: I fired 11 fausts (2 of those were his during FUBAR), I managed to hit only three of them and all three hits were in single salvo. Puma fired 5 times, most of those shots were to hit at 3+. Puma hit exactly once. Autocannon wiped out my whole Regular squad at point blank. Next round second squad was at exact same position. This time those were veterans and went Down (+2 to hit, can´t do anything this round). Result was only one dead. Also, his medic saved 4 guys. My medic saved nobody.
Second wave of FoW British prepared for priming. There are still unfinished universal carriers from wave one. This time we have second sherman unit, sextons and AA crusaders. Also, after yesterday I reworked my Bolt Action list for tournament and I'll be rushing 2 LMG germans with loaders this week to finish this year list.
Interesting game! Sounds like it was a lot of fun. Hope it helped in the preparation for the D-Day tournament. Grrr, !mrahil
It helped a lot in decision making of final list. We´ll see if those changes will be for better or for worse. Done. Now to varnish them, add flocking and I am ready for game.
Our good friend said it perfectly: Today, I forgot scouts at home and found last unit of termagaunts from Indomitus, so I started painting them. For a long time now, plan was to paint whole Nid half and then sell it to get back model money and maybe some more. My display cabinet is overcrowded.
