Well at this point in time nobody knows From a theorycrafting standpoint I am not sold on Salamanders, I think they are too expensive for their profile. Let us know how you did!
Good catch, I never drop TG though. Will prob drop some Saurus or a LVL on the skink. The skink is really just there for arcane vessel. Maybe going to drop a Saurus unit though and buy some more Magical items and a BSB and maybe some skirmishers.
love the list! Just some general comments: - I think i like Wandering Deliberations more that Higher State Of Mind for the Slann - 30 Temple Guard is a lot. you could probably go down to 20 and give you some flexibility to buy more stuff - I need to play test salamanders more, but right now they feel pretty average (even if the models look so good). - i would almost try get your skin priest on EoG as i really like the magic missle - i am still on the fence about solar engines. i am runing 2 right now but power level of 2 trying for 9+ feels bad
Personally not a fan of sallies this edition and think for shooting you'd be better served with 150 points of scouting Skink skirmishers. Not being able to move and shoot with the sallies really just limits their usefulness. Also if you don't want a wandering slann I really think becalming is better than higher state. Since slann Fly and you have such a large TG block (which can be smaller IMO), ethereal does very little for you.
Yeah, and that just severly limits their utility IMO. 6" movement with a 9" template and low ability to get it exactly where you need it. More often than not, most the template will just be over open ground probably. And to get in range of effective use you can be easily charged, so marching into position is a bad idea. Meanwhile Skink javelins are 12" range, don't rely on precise positioning and have move&shoot and quick shot, so they can march and shoot without penalty. And are poison, making up for that S and AP difference IMO on the sallie. If you could stand and shoot with a breath weapon I'd feel differently. But alas sallies seem really less effective these days.
